1956 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale

This Georgia based 56 Oval is a good ol Bug.
Shows a little age but still stands proud and is a delightful runner and driver.

The car was recently revived after long term storage after the passing of its previous owner.
Previous owner had it in his collection for decades, but when he fell ill the car sat for a few years.
The current owner, who was a friend and fellow VW nut took it on as a passion project.

It cleaned up quite nice and didn't take much to mechanically revive it.
The original 36 horse engine runs smooth and the car drives as you would expect an old 50's Beetle to drive.
Brakes were done and master cylinder converted to a dual stage unit for safety.
New battery, fuel lines, axle boots, axle seals, changed all the fluids and cleaned out the fuel tank.
The current owner really gave it a good work through and the results are obvious.

Body is nice and straight on the car and the paint holds a shine.
There are spots where the paint has faded through a bit and there are quite a few chips
and scratches and even a few touch up spots, but it has a great overall look and air of originality to it.

Love that black with red interior!

Wide white Coker Classic tires on two tone painted wheels

The 36 horse engine runs great.
Later model carburetor and distributor but otherwise looks quite stock.
Still 6 volt electrics.

Here you can see some of the touched up chips on the hood.

Some surface rust on the white center of the wheel.

She's a good Ol Bug!

Front seat bottoms were just re-done and the match seems pretty good to the
rest of the upholstery. Black nylon carpets and smooth door panels with off white piping.

Headliner is dropping away under the rear window.

Window seals were replaced at some point with the smooth style rubber.

Original hood prop still functioning and the under hood area looks unrestored.

Window scrapers are old and crumbling

A small dent on the passenger side rear fender and several paint chips and scratches.

Looks like the hood is a later model replacement as the emblem has the raised stamping below
that came around in the 60's.

Rear seat looks nice.

Drivers side rear wheel has some surface rust as well

Speedometer is the correct clear needle design

Nice un-cut dash with all the proper details and a desirable Motorola "Big M" radio.

Looks pretty straight down the sides and nice fit to the hood and other panels

Steering wheel is the correct design for 56.

Floor pans look quite solid and original under the car.

Looks like it bottomed out on something in the past as the pans are dented upward a bit
but the metal looks quite solid.

I like this car because it just has a good stock feel to it. The aging of the paint and interior
just gives the car some soul. Its not an original paint car, but it has a pleasing overall patina
that kinda draws you in. Its nice enough to gain compliments but not so cherry
that you would be afraid to driveit or park it out in the world.

With the work the current owner has done the car is a turn-key runner and is ready for fun.
Clean ownership paperwork with transferable registration in the owners name.
A nice solid and stock little Beetle, perfect to take on and do little improvements to over time.
Give it some love and make it your own!
