1957 VW Beetle Sunroof Sedan For Sale

This is a truly stunning example that comes to us from Maryland.
A fully restored from top to bottom 1957 Oval with the desirable factory sunroof in Coral Red.

The interior is fantastic with seats and panels done in original stitch patterns
using the European style VW cloth interior which is sooo much cooler than the vinyl
we normally saw here in the US.

Carpets done in proper cloth bound square weave and nice coco mats
and an accessory "cruiser pedal:.

Some great period accessories on the car such as the door sill trims,
central mounted clock in the speaker grille and more.

Flower vase is a nice touch as well.

Chassis number comes up as a late 56 production date (November, which would be 1957 model year)

Body number jives with the chassis number as far as November 56.

Engine number comes up as a correct 36 horse block but from an earlier model Beetle (October 55)

The car shows very well with proper stance, and all the right bits in place.
The US Spec bumpers and bullet turn signals, wide whitewalls and two tone rims.
This is what folks expect to see when it comes to a classic Oval window.

The underside of the car is very solid and sound.

Fender wells are detail painted in the body color.

Underside of engine looks dry and clean.
Correct exhaust and heat exchangers.

Bias ply wide whites with chrome caps on cleanly finished wheels.

Another peek below shows the extent of the restoration...very clean.

Excellent chrome

Just beautiful. This was quite obviously a very detailed restoration.

The big cloth sunroof of course is one of the major draws to the car.
There is just nothing else quite like these big slide back sunroofs.

Very nicely fit sunroof cover in tan canvas.

Headliner underneath is very well fit as well.

Under the front hood is nicely detailed.

Super cool Hazet spare tire tool kit in the matching spare wheel and tire.
Original jack is present and everything restored quite cleanly.

I love the speaker grille clock.
Steering wheel looks excellent as do all the controls.
Radio block off plate is in place and no antenna mounted on the body.

The "fuel gauge" stick is another neat goodie.

Very attractive color combination!

Nice stuff!

Wolfsburg crest hood badge

Looks showroom clean to me...this is a beautiful car.

Great shot of the headliner showing the fit and finish around the sunroof.
So many restorers seem to mess this up...but this one is done very well.

Detail of the rear seat upholstery

Cool speedometer overlay showing estimates engine RPM based on speed and gear.

Correct trim and ashtray on the door panels.

Dash looks great

Engine is also very well detailed and is thought to have been rebuilt at the time of the restoration.
The current owner has had the car since 2020 and has had it maintained and inspected
by a well respected shop in the area that also gives the car high praise.

Still 6 volt electrics and fitted with all the proper parts for the era.

Car is located in Maryland near Baltimore
but its registered in the owner's Montana LLC.

Very clean

Sooo pretty!

Nice reflection down the side here.

This in closing appears to be a really nice car inside and out as well as underneath.
Obviously restored by someone that knows VWs and focused on doing it as period pure as possible.
Definitely a nice car that will show well at any event and will be a lovely addition to any collection.
