1963 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale
This nice little Beetle comes to us from San Diego California.
Its a very original and complete car that is very solid and clean, runs great
and it has a great vibe of originality.
Its been repainted on the exterior but is otherwise super original.
This car was bought through our website in 2012 and the owner did the cosmetic
and mechanical restoration over the next couple years.
Body is very straight and clean.
Black California plates
all the right original trim and fitting in place.
All stock and proper. Never lowered or modified.
Wheels are painted the correct two tone, the tan running boards and light colored fender beading
it all just fits the image right...this is what a stock 63 Beetle should be.
Pearl white is the original color, and the repaint seems a great match to that.
Stock 40 horse engine and still 6 volt electrics.
Runs and drives well and is quite clean.
The engine was rebuilt under current ownership and has low mileage since.
Interior on the car is all original which is quite a treat to see.
Original upholstery, headliner, door panels and carpet!
Dash is original paint
Tags and numbers are all as they should be.
Clean California title with current registration
Speedometer looks very clean, 61,000 miles on it.
Original upholstery is wild to see these days and this is in pretty amazing shape.
I'm not 100% sure if this is the numbers matching original case
but it very well might be. The owner rebuilt it in 2014
and has only driven it around town the past 10 years, so very minimal mileage.
Clean and dry underneath.
Looks like original seat belts as well!
Steering wheel looks very clean
Headliner is original but has had some repair done below the rear window.
Some expected aging to the material but its holding up well for being over 60 years old.
Original radio still in the dash as well.
Original carpets show some wear and discoloration
Coco mats help protect and upgrade the floors a bit.
Tires are good, wheels were powder coated so they finish is really nice and strong.
Small ding in the drivers door visible in this pic.
Brakes were done during the refurbishment.
A new battery was recently installed.
Nice fit to all the body panels.
Bumpers look like nice originals
There are some paint blisters down on the lower edge of the deck lid.
The owner states that they have remained this way for years without any change.
May have been an adhesion issue with the repaint?
Smooth and straight down the sides looking at the reflection
Im really digging the original interior.
Not only does it look great, there is nothing quite like that smell of
an original VW interior! It just takes you right back in time every time you open the door.
Original German bumpers were re-chromed and look fantastic..
Cleanly painted and finished in the spare tire well area.
Looks like original trunk liner and wiring cover
Tool roll is here as well, and some spare fan belts.
Spare wheel is finished to match.
Apron looks very clean and straight
Glass is excellent and all the rubber was replaced at the time of the paint job.

Drivers side as expected has more wear than the passenger side.
Underneath it looks super solid as well

In closing this is just a really nice solid original example.
California car, straight and proper, all stock
and with the original interior it is a very sweet little survivor.
A good old girl that you will be proud to bring home to meet mama.
