1963 VW Beetle Ragtop Sunroof For Sale

SOLD!

This Southern California based 1963 sunroof is quite the looker.
Black exterior with the red interior and matching sunroof cover just grabs the eye so strongly.
Great paint, smooth body, bright chrome and the wide whitewalls...it is just so sweet.

I went to see this one personally and I really dig it.

Definitely a Beetle that will bring much attention wherever you go.

Some minor variances from original but most folks wont catch them at first.
Large logo hubcaps are not correct for 63, but they look cool.

The fender top turn signals are gone, the bumpers are aftermarket replacements
but the quality and condition is very nice.

There are a few small flaws when you look close.
Its not a perfect car by any means, but it sure looks amazing.

Bias ply wide whitewalls give it that proper vintage look.

Out back the engine looks quite stock and simple with some notable upgrades
such as 12 volt electrics and more modern distributor.
Air outlets for the heater have been capped.

Very smooth and straight body with excellent gloss to that black paint.

Under the hood is clean and shows well

Under side of hood and engine lid have been finished with a textured sound deadening finish.

Accessory gravel guards on all four fenders

VW logo mud flaps and bumper mounted German "D" plate.

Interior looks great in "tomato soup" red with ivory piping.

I love the coco mats as well.
Very bright and happy in here.

Matching spare wheel and tire

Bambus parcel tray is another nice classic accessory.

German "Tourist Delivery" plate on the front is a nice item as well.

Wood slat roof rack is in excellent shape.
I love the red sunroof cover!

Look at that reflection...so clean!

Engine number for those that wish to chase the digits.

Solid and straight up front in the spare tire well.
No jack in the holder.

Window rubbers and felts are all in great shape.

Beautiful

Volkswagen script emblem is another added accessory.
Personalized plates do not go with the car.

Aftermarket bumpers installed...those rubber grommets being the clue to that.
Originals did not have these seals,

Nice and solid underneath

Fuel line re-routed along the side of the chassis
probably due to a leak in the original line that went through the tunnel.

Stock front beam and drum brakes

Perhaps some very minor repair done under the battery at some point
but overall this looks to be a very solid and sound example.

Mudflaps are cool

Engine room is pretty clean and it runs and drives great.

Nice carpets and headliner

Clean

Looks nice under the engine as well.
Looks like this has the stale air heater boxes on it which would explain the capped
off fan shroud outlets.

Denman tires

Roof rack is the correct taller style to clear the sliding sunroof.

Door latches were painted over during restoration.

Headliner under the sunroof could be a bit tighter
but the rest looks well installed and in excellent condition.

Cleanly detailed

Original Bendix AM radio

Small ding on the top of the passenger rear fender

In closing this is obviously a well done and well kept Beetle.
I love the whole thing inside and out.
Beautiful and well priced for a timely sale.
Someone is going to score a wonderful car here!
