This Southern California based 1963 Beetle is a fantastic little car.
Very very original and untouched, numbers matching engine,
all original equipment, super solid and it runs great.
The exterior was repainted only once in the original Pearl white color,
but the rest is very untouched and clean.
Extremely dry and solid original chassis, no rust or repairs.
Recent new muffler and tips installed.
Original paint on the interior...original VW key for the ignition.
Original carpets still look great...door jams are very solid and clean.
Door panels and headliner are original and untouched.
Seat belts are newer retractable units.
Original glass
Headliner still looks amazingly nice.
A little wear on the side of the carpet, but this is all original
stuff!!
Nice bamboo parcel tray has been added.
Original owners manual and took kit in the glove box.
Original radio in the dash...this car is all stock and untouched...just
great.
For being all original in here it is really impressive.
I love cars like this...you can see, feel and smell the history...when
they are restored they lose a lot of charm.
The seats are in excellent shape!
Very nice!
A little bit of sun burn under the rear window, but not bad for 50
years old!
Seats are very nice indeed.
I love the details like the service sticker in the door jam...original
cars are the best!
All lights and such are working...still 6 volt system.
The radio even works (about 25% of the time...)
No wrecks, no "angry hands" have worked on it...it has always been well
taken care of and it shows.
Original black California plates on the car...bumpers are original
German units.
Check out that awesome solid floorpan with original under coating!!
The original 40 horse engine is still running like a sewing machine.
The car has 120,000 original miles on it.
Looks like everything is in place back here...all the tins and seals
and such.
Totally stock...just the way it should be.
A little further detailing under the engine lid and it will be even
more impressive!
Original jack and handle are here and functional.
The original paint code sticker is present in the spare tire well.
Very untouched and original under the hood...wiring is excellent,
original fiber glove box is nice.
1974 California inspection sticker in the windshield.
The window rubbers are a bit dry and there is a wee bit of overspray on
them in spots.
Window scraper is dry and cracked as well...but again...for an original
unrestored car, this is to be expected.
The wood slat roof rack is a modern reproduction that adds a little
style to the car.
So sweet...look at how nice the shut lines are on the hood and
doors...a good solid, honest, humble Beetle
just the way they are supposed to be!
The wheels were painted at the time of the exterior paint.
if the car were mine I would spray them back to the original two tone
but that is really about all ...the car is just great as it is.
Love it...just love it.
The paint is really quite nice on the car by the way...no dents or
damage...perhaps a stone chip or two
but it presents itself very well and I am sure gets admiring stares
wherever it goes.
The car is located in Northern San Diego County...title is clean and
clear.
Looks like a little ding in the runningboard trim... but the car sits
so right...with the nose just slightly high
like a puppy sitting at attention...come on lets go for a ride!
It is becoming harder and harder to find truly unmolested 60's Beetle
like this.
It is refreshing to see them pop up from time to time.
And finding one this solid is also increasingly rare.
Hey even the radio still has it's warranty tag! When is the last time
you saw one of these?
In closing I am a big fan of this car.
Its clean, it is ALL stock and the level of originality is high and it
really has the look and feel of
a car that has had a loved and cared for life. You can restore a car a
hundred times...but it is only original once.
And when you have had the opportunity to experience a car like this you
will understand how cool they are.
Simple...they way they should be.
