1965 VW Type 3 Notchback For Sale
This Northern California based 65 Notchback is a very special car.
Great look and style, nice quality restoration, excellent history
and some awesome accessories and upgrades.
The car has been well celebrated in its life here in the US, being seen in multiple magazines
and has been a consistent award winner.
As you can see in the above shots, it was first restored to stock, and now in its current form
with lowered suspension, custom wheels and a performance engine.
Its a 1600S model and it was restored in its original paint color of Sea Blue.
It was a German delivery car originally...the history and details of the build are in the images below.
Top level performance stuff going on there, obviously an "open wallet" build.
Some of the best names and best parts used.
Mechanically it is in excellent shape and during current ownership has minimal miles.
Definitely a dream machine for many VW nuts.
Chrome Porsche Cayman wheels look sweet on the car and the open spoke design
shows off the Wilwood disc brakes with cross drilled rotors.
Such a great car and color combo.
Accessory bumper over riders and flat Euro taillight lenses.
Body and paint remain very nice and its obvious the car has always been well kept
and cared for during its life.
Chrome looks nice, body lookes super smooth and straight down the sides.
Nice stance
The interior is gorgeous as well.
Bambus parcel tray under the dash, oatmeal carpets and blue seats with off white piping.
Extremely cool Empi "Coach" steering wheel was restored and color matched.
I love the two tone and the added chrome rings between the colors.
Definitely inspired by the big American car wheels of the 50's.
Fat racing belts in front and back and a Gene Berg shifter are the only interior signs that there
is some serious horsepower out back.
Very clean and comfy!
Rear trunk and engine compartment are super clean.
Very stout and strong 2387cc engine built by Dave Greiner at ProFormance
in Southern California. Pauter heads, Dellorto carburetors, and all of it super clean and well packed
into the original engine space with plenty of clearance to close the lid.
External oil filter with stainless braided lines.
Very solid underneath
Nice undercoat over super clean and solid floor pans.
Slick performance exhaust by CSP.
Front beam by OldSpeed with Wilwood disc brakes.
Nice
Under the front hood all is mega clean as well
Original jack still in its spot
Nice nice nice.
The owner is getting us some additional exterior shots of the car that will be a bit clearer
and without wide angle distortion, but as you can see from the images above it is
a pretty impressive car inside and out.
