Randy Carlson's
Herbie Fully Loaded Hollywood Premier Photos!

The early morning line up at TVA / Oldbug.com for the caravan down...7 Herbies total!

Brian Uiga's freshly done Herbie on the right, "Unreal53" Herbie on the left

On the road to the Premier...I led the caravan...seeing a string of Herbie's in the mirror was ever so cool

Arrived at the ElCapitan and pre staged out back for a while while they got things ready.

Then one by one they led us on to the red carpet.
My Herbie was the last one to be parked... that's Kool's Herbie in front of me here.

Here's the line up on the red carpet looking towards the entrance where the stars come in.

And looking the other way with me standing dead center living the dream.

Me with my Herbie.
I was placed right in front and too the right...basically the "pole position" as far as I was concerned.

They provided some great signs to identify the owners of each car.

Here's Tory fast at the detailing work on Kool's Herbie.

Here's my baby, ready for lights, camera, action

More Herbies ready for their debut.

Jerry (Toolbit) and his daughter April's Herbies...gotta love it, especially on Fathers day!

Things getting all set up...quite the buzz in the air.

Just beyond the Herbies, the red carpet changes to a carpeted raceway.
The bleachers on one side were filled with contest winners and such.
(referred to as Bleacher Creatures...gotta love that)

Just beyond the bleachers were the "pits" with the serious Nascar hardware on display.

The "real Nascar Herbie"?

Dale Jarrett's car.

Then the Finish line and more red carpet with Nascar Herbie on stage.

HUGE banner behind it.

How sweeet it is!!!

This tent and table were kinda an information booth featuring some props from the film.

The marquee all lit up...a beautiful thing.

My "I was there" shot.

Entrance area to the ElCapitan was loaded with Herbie posters.

Inside the lobby was one of the big Herbie cut outs.

Behind the stage where the Nascar Herbie was, was the fun zone area.
The stage here was all set up for the entertainment.

Fun carnival games and rides were converted to Herbie themes.

Trip Murphy statue used in the film.

Directional sign.
Club 53 was a huge bounce house.

Our view from our table during our lunch break.

Then action time...
Here's Kool milking the press like a well oiled machine.
Its nearly 100 degrees out and Kool has to show off his jacket...
Ol Dave loves the limelight, thats for sure...he was having a blast!!

Here's the Herbie and Friends cruise drivers posing next to my Herbie...great suits!!

Larry King and family were the first recognizeable starts to arrive.
Larry reminds me of a cross between Moe and Mr Burns from the Simpsons.

Real nice guy, he and his family crawled into Kools Herbie for a photo op.

How fun is this??
Excellent!

Our star Lindsay Lohan makes her entrance.
Here she is obviously flashing her smile and the handsome gent with the camera...oh wait...thats me!

Oh...the guy with the "bigger lens" always gets em...

Strike a pose...

Steady girl...

Profile now...

A moment for a word with a young fan.

Autograph time!!
Lindsay signed my glove box door, starting off my collection with a bang.

It was pretty cool to be so close to the action
without having to be a part of the throng of autograph hounds on the other side of the fence.

A lucky lady with her prize.

Down the row she went...

Lots of guests took time to pose with and in all the Herbie cars...it was very fun to
have the folks want to get in and such,

Here's Cheryl Hines...the next to sign my glovebox door.
Very sweet lady.

Jon Voight...he seems to show up everywhere.

One fashion concious attendee had this stylish purse...
Herbie starts new fashion trend among the rich and famous!

Here's the "Wipe that Bug of my windshiled" guy. Jim Cody Williams

He took a moment to sit in Brian's Herbie.

Michael Keaton makes the scene...another glove box door signature!

Matt Dillon signed the glove box door too and then the decklid of Kools car.

Scribble scribble...

Gotta tend to the fans too!

Here's some of Dave's autographs.

This guy is from "The Bachelor" show with his little sister (Im guessing)
Posing for a photo at my Herbie.

Here's a shot I borrowed from someone else showing Matt Dillon signing my glove box door.

Another "borrowed" photo of Friend's star Lisa Kudrow

yet another borrowed image of this time, Breckin Meyer.

Another borrowed image of George Lopez and his beautiful family.

Then the clock struck 3 and I made my walk down the red carpet past all the photographers and fans in the grandstands.
I tried to look important, but nobody screamed my name or asked me for an interview, so I guess Im still safe
walking the streets...no paparazzi for me. I scored an actual ticket for the Premier at the ElCapitan while I was
chatting with folks (it's nice to have friends!) so I was the only one of the Herbie owner's group to make it in.
Big thanks to Tory for taking control of my car and such while I went off to see the film.

What a rush to be in that building, that amazing theater, to see the movie with all the stars of the film!!
Pipe organ music played live while Herbie images of past films mixed with live images of the action on the red carpet.
I sat and watched folks pose with my car...MY car...right on the big screen ...a high point indeed.

The movie was awesome...I sat there watching it, kinda dazed by the whole scene, eating popcorn from a Herbie bucket...
Totally awesome.

Film over, and then out to the "After Party"!!
I forgot to take a whole lot of photos at the after party...shoulda done that...oh well.
I did collect some trickets and souveniers as well as stuff my face with the free foods.

A race track with jumps and such was set up for these cool radio control Pimp Herbies.

A camera was snapping photos of attendees with the Nascar Herbie

Had to get a couple of those...

A similar photo opportunity was available with the "other" Nascar Herbie.
The pins, toy car, necklace, and magnets were all available in the "Ice Cream" shop at the Theatre...along with a lot of other items as well.
They also gave away some diecast Herbies too, but I missed out on those.

Here's my autograph collection on the glove box door of my Herbie.
Clockwise starting with the blue one...
Lindsay Lohan
Justin Long
Jimmi Simpson
Matt Dillon
Michael Keaton
Cheryl Hines
Breckin Meyer

And on the inside of the door "behind the scenes" is Director Angela Robinson's autograph,
who I took the time to personally thank for doing Herbie justice in the new film...she seemed quite pleased with that.

Popcorn tubs from the Premier

My "name tag" and a nice mounted poster.

The next day our group was invited for a private screening of the movie at Disney Studios in Burbank!!
Just us hardcore Herbie nuts and our families...the tension was high, but in the end, everybody raved about the film

I think we will have a good one here...

Now get out there to the theaters and watch it...OK?
