1969 VW Type 3 Panel Delivery For Sale

This is a very rare vehicle indeed.
Thisis a little known special Type 3 model that was only seen in Europe and Australia.
Most of the ones I have seen have been Australian based, but this one apparantly was first ordered
from VW by the Swedish Post Office. A factory panle van to haul around the mail.

Being a Swedish car, it features left hand drive. The only other examples I have seen have been right hand drive.
This makes it even a little more special. Im sure there is some Type 3 guru out there that has some clue as
to how many have been produced, but I cant imagine that there are many remaining.
This car has just received a respray on the outside in the original Pearl White, as well as a few stylish modifications
to give it the amazing custom stance it has today.
Ive got to say...this is one of the coolest looking Type 3's I have seen in a long long time.

Accessory overrider bumpers and Euro headlights.
Narrowed Type 1 beam with disc brakes, Porsche Fuchs wheels,
nice quality body and paint work... just clean and simple and hard as nails looks wise.
You want to draw a crowd at the next VW event...this is the car to do it with.
It is freshly done and has not been shown yet.

VW 1600 Variant badges, German Tourist plates for show only.
Car has a clear California title.
The car has moved around the world a bit, and at one time was in the hands of the "Type 3 Detectives" in the UK
and was used as a parts runner. Now it's a show piece as it should be.

Interior done in all red!!.
Red dash pad, red steering wheel (with full circle horn ring)
red seats and carpets...really sweet look and all freshly done.

Red dash pad and steering wheel really look sweet in the car and add a bold contrast to the white exterior.

Red carpets look great, nice CD stereo

Fresh and new headliner, original visors, all new window rubbers too.

Headliner is excellent

Rear cargo area is clean and simple.
Here you can see the factory panels...note the air vent pocket on the rearward one.

Here's a closer shot.
Headliner is new and well fitted by the way.

Rubber cargo mats roll all the way up to the cargo wall that keeps the parcels from sliding into thr front seats.

Here's the cargo wall from the front.
The rear seat back panel is the same as a standard squareback and has been upholstered to match...
This divider panel can be removed to fit the standard seat bottom if desired...but I think it's cooler to leave it as designed
maybe wrap up some old boxes and tie them with string and set them in the back....

The engine is a stock 1600 with factory dual carbs.
It runs and drives well, but has not been show detailed obviously.

Under the front hood is a factory gas heater.
Note...the paint in the hood area here is all original.

The heater is all hooked up...not sure if the owner has tried it, but it is all there.

Pretty clean looking in here for being original stuff.

Instruction stickers remain on the gas flap door.

Gorgeous polished Porsche wheels and excellent tires.
Type 1 style front end was adapted and welded in place (might be a challenge to put back to stock if desired)
But it gets the front end down in the weeds where it looks so cool and gets the wheels tucked in nicely.

Tucked in nicely...all new rubber

Its a clean looking ride and the rarity factor is through the roof.

Great chrome, nice accessory bumper guards, nice fit and finish...great car.

Its all about the panels... genuine stuff here, not some custom guy's sheet metal work.

Just awesome dont you agree?
An extremely rare model and done very very cleanly.
Something that will draw smailes and stares from the general public and some heavy
attention from the VW faithful as well.
