1967 VW Beetle Convertible For Sale
This Maryland based 67 Beetle Convertible is a pretty special car.
The look and style of this one just pulls you in.
While not done to factory colors or trim. it remains extremely classy
and cool and is a delightful driver that is ready to enjoy.
The car was restored some time ago now (1995) and its showing little bits of age
but as you can see, it still has an amazingly beautiful appearance to it.
Chrome wheels with chrome Wolfsburg nipple hubcaps, great paint color and a nice black canvas top.
So pretty
The underside of the car looks very solid and clean
Looking close here inside the rear fender well, it looks
as if the rear clip has been replaced as the bumper mounting supports are of a later style than 1967
Cleanly done though.
Support rails and floor pans look great
Disc brakes up front is a nice upgrade.
Clean and solid below
Underside of the engine looks pretty clean as well
Single port engine with the correct 67 oil bath air cleaner
The owner states that it is a truly excellent runner and very fun to drive.
Engine and trans have approximately 10,300 miles on them since rebuilding.
The restoration of the car is well documented and photos are included with the sale.
Originally the car was Yukon Yellow as seen on the interior in this shot.
Exterior was stripped to bare metal before finish body and paint work
The chassis was fully redone as well
After paint
The car has the correct locking hood latch, but it is not working properly.
A release cable for the latch is located just under the horn on the drivers side front fender well.
Wiring and behind the dash workings all look nice.
Another couple underside shots
Maryland year of manufacture plate
Wheels add a little flash to the car.
Always kept out of the weather
Fat exhaust tips give the engine a little beefier sound than the factory tweeter pipes.
I love the amber topped Euro taillight lenses against that body color.
Interior and dash are very clean.
Factory radio block off plate is in the dash as well as the correct rubber 67 dash knobs.
Karmann body badge
Some slight oxidization on some chrome bits but nothing nasty
Interior looks great and shows only minimal wear.
The lighter seat and panel colors is a wise choice for the summer sun.
Here is one small pull in the seat material at the back of one of the front seats.
Original 67 seat belts show some wear.
Carpet in decent shape and the gear pattern shift knob is a nice little accessory.
Love that simple and clean dashboard!
Headliner looks good
Spare tire well is clean and solid
Body tag is a replacement as the original was lost during restoration
but the chassis number does match the title and the original birth certificate from Volkswagen
Birth certificate shows a June 15th 1967 production
at the Karmann factory in Osnabruck
with destination of Duluth Minnesota USA
Original owners manual included as well
