Incredible Time Capsule 1967 VW Camper For Sale

This impressive all original 67 Camper has recently emerged from hibernation in the So Cal mountains
and is one incredible find. All original and just 10,000 original miles since new!!
Always in So Cal...sold new in San Diego and in the hands of it's 2nd owner, who purchased the car about 20 years ago with
6,000 original miles. He used it sparingly in the mountains for local camping and then packed it away in his garage until now.

This is one of those finds that just gets your head spinning looking at all the details and seeing how the factory
really did things back then. This is not a restored Bus...this is all original except for two things...I will get to that later.

The body is exceptional and the original paint finish has an amazing shine to it.

Truly museum worthy...this is way too cool!
Not only is it an impressive low mileage survivor, it is also an extremely rare camper conversion
by a San Diego based company called Bowman. I have been in the VW scene in Southern California for a long long time,
and I have NEVER come across another Bowman camper. Im curious if others out there have seen one...if you have...let me know!

It was sold as a camper new at the dealership...so Bowman must have made a few to sell to the local dealerships.

OK...are you ready for the two "non original" things?
Well...the bumpers in front and back were repainted at one point, as was the nose of the Bus from the seam below the
winshields down. This was done to repair a could stone chips, the quality of the work was very good...there is no concealed damage here
but it is something that I should point out.
The rest of the Bus appears to be 100% original inside and out...original paint and interior, etc... lets have a look further shall we?

The dealer plate frames are from the original selling dealer of the Bus and they are in amazing condition.
The blue plates were put on when the 2nd owner registered the car...not sure why the black plates were turned in
but they were. The Bus has always been in So Cal though and the full history is known.

Chrome is excellent, correct headlight glass,

Body is just drop dead gorgeous straight...no door dings or touch ups...just droolingly smooth.

Look at those rockers!....yowza!!

No repairs or touch ups here...this is all original finish.
There is NO rust damage to this vehicle.

This is the smoothest unrestored stock side panel I have ever seen...wow!!

That's original paint people!!
Look at the shine down the side!

Roof has a couple of small dings in it if you look super close...but that is about it.

Single camper window in the center and factory pop outs on either side.

These are original to the Bus, they have not been polished...this is the original finish and boy are they clean!!

Window rubber is holding up nicely which is quite impressive for being in California.

Look how clean this latch is on the back side.... this is the sort of thing that pops out at you when you start
looking deep into a car like this.

The camper interior is in amazing all original condition and is quite unique.

Very nice.

here's a shot inside the bed cabinet from above.

Access door to the bed cabinet from up front too.

Stunning interior!!
Could this be the very best Bowman Camper in the world?
I think the chances are very good that it is!!!
Rarity wise I am sure the Bowman conversion was far lower production than Westfalia or Sundial
or pretty much any known Camper manufacturer out there...

Lets look in the engine bay !!

Super clean!

This is the original, numbers matching 1500cc engine.
It truly purrs like a kitten and the Bus drives so dreamily well...as you would expect for so few miles.

The factory "governor" is in place.

Valve adjust sticker on the fan shroud.

original Solex carb

This has'nt been cleaned up in here either...some pro detailing and it will be even more amazing!

Battery area is very clean. I did spy under very close inspection that there was a little tiny bit of paint touch up
done under the battery...the current owner admitted to it...there were a couple of spots
where battery acid etched a mark in the finish so he applied a little paint to keep it clean.
No rust underneath the battery though...this was just cosmetic.

Clean clean clean

All original paint in here on this side... not detailed either...a little wax and it will shine even more!

This is one of those original details that I just go insane for...original factory hose clamps!

Very clean

What a dream find...dont you think?

original numbers-matching engine.

The underside of the Bus is dirty...the mileage is low,
but with a dealer applied undercoating
and a life on the dirt roads of the local campgrounds...it's not all spotless
and showroom underneath.

Perhaps a blast with a pressure washer would help...that undercoating just holds the dirt like crazy.
No sigs of ANY rust going on underneath here though...amazingly solid!

Solid solid solid.
The only thing that keeps this Bus from being as impressive as the EZ Camper we recently sold (that was advertised at $75,000)
is that that Bus was never undercoated...so the original grey paint was underneath. This one got the coating...

Impressively solid and un-disturbed.

A Camper in the Woods...it's natural habitat!!

Original paint on the wheels by the way!
The hubcaps have been re-sprayed and the original bias ply tires were swapped out by the
current owner when he first bought the Bus some 20 years ago...I sure wish he would have kept them!!

Amazing find and a very rare opportunity to find a Bus in this condition...let alone a Camper Bus!
Gorgeous condition, sickeningly low original miles, very rare Camper conversion...what more can I say?
You will NOT find another like it...ever. Dont miss your chance!
