1960 VW 15 Window Deluxe Microbus For Sale
Here is a very desirable split screen Bus for you,
a genuine German production factory hardtop Deluxe, or "15 Window" if you like to count holes.
The hardtop deluxe models are pretty uncommon these days it seems.
This is for many reasons , one being the production of the hardtops was much lower
lower than the hardtops, and the second reason is that over the years so many
hardtop models have been converted to sunroof models as the values are higher.
As a result of that, finding a proper example is getting harder and harder it seems.
This California based example was purchased by the seller from someone
in the UK that had restored it...and he had purchased it from someone on the west coast of the US
prior to the restoration...so this one has some interesting travel under its wheels
and much of that as trans ocean cargo!
The restoration is very nice.
Well done inside and out and quite correct in original details.
The seller did want me to note that the kick panels under the dash are being redone
at the moment as the material came loose from the backing board...this will be flat and proper before sale.
Interior looks great, excellent condition with no notable wear.
Steering wheel looks sharp and features the deluxe horn push with ivory base.
Body and paint are excellent
and this was restored in the original factory colors.
Mega straight down the sides...quality work
All the correct trim and detail is present.
This is a factory 9 seater model with the bench front seat and full width center seat.
All the proper coat hooks, "jail bars" and seat handles are here where they are supposed to be.
The headliner is done in cloth, as original for the 1960 model.
Proper flat board type sun visors.
Plenty of room for all your friends (or at least the important ones!)
Very well kept and cared for since completion of the restoration.
Correct bumper and rocker trims
The underside has just a bit of road grime from use, but with a little detailing it
will be show ready. No notable rust issues (tiny bit of surface rust seen here will most likely polish off.
Very clean interior
Paint work is even nice under the mats and seats.
The engine has been upgraded from the original to a 1600cc single port
with 12 volt electrics and such. Great runner and driver.
Very cleanly done in here. I love the vintage cloth covered plug wires and the semi gloss finish on the engine tins.
Super clean and solid around the battery.
Very clean engine room.
Odometer reads 10214 miles as of these photos.
Sapphire II Am/FM radio fits nicely in the factory radio hole.
Floors are rock solid and clean.
All body seals look to be good.
Rain gutters are smooth, solid and straight.
