1947 VW Beetle For Sale

This is a very special car all the way around and we are thrilled to
have it here on Oldbug.
When this car first hit the So Cal scene a couple years back it really
made a statement.
It is a very unique build with a wild but tasteful custom touch thaat
makes it a very memorable car
that I think people will talk about for many years to come.

Of course the build is even more special because of the age of the
"canvas"
This is a very rare 1947 Beetle...not your avaerage choice for a custom.

While the purists have already run out of the room screaming because
such a rare machine has been
modified like this, there are enough of the proper original details in
place that it still holds some
period references that tell you this is not a normal split.
The "banana" bumpers, the early style hood handle...etc.

The extreme lowered stance of course is far from original
and thereare some other diversions from the original specs when it
comes to the drivetrain and suspension.
The chassis is from a later model allowing for hydraulic brakes,
telescopic shocks and a full synchromesh performance transaxle

The matte finish paint is very striking and the copper details on the
wheels continue on through the rest of the car
giving it a very unique theme and style.

Its a great car.

Under the lid is no stocker 25 horse!
This impressive work of art packs some serious punch beneath the copper
details and semigloss finish.
156 hp on the dyno with this 2276cc monster!

The detailing is just killer.
I love the look of this...very unique!

Under the hood the restoration quality is very nice, the original early
style fuel tank is present
as well as the welded metal glove boxes and vw logo stamped dash panel.

The interior is done in the correct materials sourced in Germany and
installed here in California by one of the best shops.
The steering wheel is the correct fat rim three spoke with the small
horn button.

German square weave carpets and rubber mats.
The interior really looks fanatstic!

More engine detailing

Massive Weber carbs have been detailed in solid black to match the
engine.

Copper braided lines...have you ever seen that before?
I sure havent!

Back inside...

Cruiser pedal and the early style large logo pedal pads.

Cool eagle emblem in the center of the dash.

Speedometer has been fully restored as well

The copper detailing on the VW logo is another nice touch that ties
everything together.

The wheels are rare South African Sprint Stars that have been
customized with staggered width and
the copper plating.
The semi gloss finish of the wheel smatches the engine room detailing
as well.

Static drop, no airbags and a very nice tuck of the fat rubber out back.

Same finish to the fuel tank as the other black parts.
Custom SS fuel cap matches the center caps of the wheels.

Wiring is all new

Sweet

Marchal headlamps behind Hella VW logo fluted lenses.

Semaphores are the rare accessory "clackers" with the grooved trim and
copper detailed screws.

47 California plate.
Note the correct early pressing in the engine lid under the plate.

Taillights have the correct metal ring around the lens.

Crank start tab on the bumper
(as if you would actually crank that 2276...but I digress)

Hood latch structure is totally different on these early cars.

The car has been featured in multiple magazines and has won many awards.
The photos by Alex Arredondo are pure magic and appeared in the
publication Airmighty
which is the "Rodders Journal" of the VW scene globally.

In closing this is a very special machine.
Built to a very high level and a very slick approach to a custom build
without losing the vibe of the
original...and being a very rare 1947 model...I think that was a wise
move indeed.
