Here we go...big daddy real deal 23 window Microbus up for grabs!
This Texas based fully restored 23 window Deluxe Microbus is
a truly beautiful example.
The current owner has had it for about 5 years and has only put 100 miles on it,
It is definitely been a garage queen during this period, but he has kept it running
and well sorted and has recently serviced it to prepare it for sale.
This was a high quality authentic restoration from top to bottom.
Wherever possible original German parts were sourced,
The colors are the correct Sealing Wax Red and Beige Grey that it
was from new.
All the proper trim in place, date coded wheels, etc etc.
The goal of this restoration was factory original in every way.
Fantastic looking Bus and the photos do not do it justice.
This is ready for the concours field.
Best of all it is a legitimate model 241 sunroof deluxe model
with the desirable walk through front seats and in the correct original colors.
Body tags and numbers are all in place.
Interior is beautifully done with seats by West Coast Classics
panels by Clara, correct wool headliner and all the right details
The walk through front seat option is a highly prized one among collectors.
Dash is superb, safari front windows, correct chrome Deluxe ashtray and clock.
Proper Sapphire I radio fitted with the correct knobs.
Speedometer was restored at the time of the restoration,
looks like just over 100 miles since.
Under dash panels and mat look great.
Cleanly finished controls .
Under the rubber mat is a dreamy clean floor/
This was all done from top to bottom at the highest level.
Full width middle seat features the correct grab handles and underseat trim.
Ashtrays, arm rests, grab handles, coat hooks...all the details are present.
Even the proper molded rubber mat material for the walk through passage!
All the jail bars in the windows are present, the rear luggage rail and spare tire cover.

The engine is not the original to the Bus but it is a correct date coded case of 1/63
and the details parts wise are impressive.
Great finish level in the engine room
Optima battery is properly strapped in place.
Stamped vin number on the body has been highlighted for easy reading.

Up on the rack you can see the extent of the restoration.
With the pedal splash panel removed you can see the detailed suspension and controls
Belly pans are glossy smooth and solid.

and the steering box look clean enough to eat off of!
