This wild ride is a tribute to the historic KDF type 82, the WW2 version
of the Beetle that was used in war time . The originals are highly valued and highly prized
and most sit in museums or private collections that rarely see the light of day.

This one however is a car that you can actually use and enjoy.
It has the look of the original but is based on newer parts.
The body started out as an early Oval (55) but has been back dated with the split rear window
and early style bumpers as well as some fantastic genuine era parts as well.
Its a very convincing look and with a slight age to it, Im sure it would
fool the vast majority of folks that see it, which makes it perfect for military reenactment events
or use in film.
The Notek anti aircraft running light is a super cool item.
The thought being that it would shine just enough light to see the edge of the road
while being shaded so airplanes could not see the light from above.
A pennant mount on the top of the fender for your party flag and other military markings grace the body.
Front fenders are high quality fiberglass and the rest of the body is all steel.
Fluted headlight lenses in color matched rings.
Dashboard is a faithful reproduction KDF style unit with the cog wheel logo impression.
Speedometer is done in the correct early design. The three spoke wheel has the correct small horn push.
Early ignition switch with push button and semaphore switch.
Football shaped mirror is a great early design detail
Cog wheel dimpled shift knob is awesome
The wood duckboards on the floor are cool.
Seats and panels are cleanly done.
Comfortable and durable vinyl upholstery on the seats.
Simple central headliner
Split rear window looks convincing and is done in steel
Under the deck lid is an excellent running and easily serviceable 1600cc with
12 volt electrics and mated to that IRS transmission and suspension
makes for a great driver...a far step above in the world compared to the original
full crash box trans, 25 hp and cable brakes. This one will keep up on the highway!
Front trunk is fitted with a matching spare and an early wide mouth fuel tank.
Very solid underneath with no rust or nastiness visible
Early style taillights with the rings, the third brake light in the center
German replica plates, smooth blade bumpers with "banana" bumper guards like the originals.
This is a very well built tribute of the WW2 era Beetle.
Properly done, very solid, great runner and driver and loaded with period details
that will be a conversation starter wherever you go.
