1951 VW Beetle Deluxe Sedan For Sale

When you roll up at a VW show in a Split Window Beetle
you become the star of the show and this Minnesota based 51
has been the Belle of the Ball at every show it has attended over the years.

The restoration of the car was done in roughly 2013
and it was a full body off affair that transformed this car into a real show stopper.

This car has a great back story in that its current owner has had in since 1975!
He purchased the car while stationed overseas in Belgium and has
kept it ever since. His attachment to it is strong but everything has its time in life
and it is time to hand over the keys to a new loving owner.

The car is always garaged and kept out of the weather.
Obviously rolled out for some quick current shots for marketing
but it has always been well kept and cared for.

Such a lovely little classic Beetle.

And with that show in the background it looks like a postcard!

The car has won its fair share of awards after the restoration
and it is easy to see why as you look through the photo array.

The car was sold new in Brussels Belgium in late May 1951
and it is very pleasing to see that the car still has its original numbers matching engine
as documented on the birth certificate from VW.

The car is really nice, but not without flaw.
I wanted to point out just a few things so there are no surprises if buying at a distance.
A couple of small pits in the chrome on the bumper

Clean and solid under the hood and in the spare tire well.

Unrestored original KM speedometer shows some slight fade.
Nice to see the original ignition switch in place.

Single tip exhaust

Proper taillights and "Popes Nose" license plate light.
Rear fenders and front hood are not the original panels to the car but have been
made visually correct for the model year.

Nice early took kit with the original canvas pouch.

Interior is done with the proper striped cloth
Door handles and window cranks are the correct grooved units.

Proper "Bat Wing" steering wheel is cleanly restored.

Wiring was all new at the time of the restoration.

The original numbers matching 25 horsepower engine out back looks awesome and reportedly runs very well.
Transmission is also original to the car according to the owner.

Grooved bumpers and proper guards.

Done light is right

Fuel tank has the rarely seen screen insert for under the cap.

Original glove boxes in very nice shape

Even the ashtray out back is right

Heater is not hooked up as you can see in this shot.
Telescoping shocks.

Regulator us a more modern unit but the generator is the correct big nut unit
and the fan shroud has the correct seam along the top edge.
The distributor is the correct flat cap unit and the coil is the proper 6 volt "star" coil.

Wheels are nicely painted and detailed

A beauty for sure.

Its a beautifully done car with nice details and a well known history.
The owner has had it for so many years and is a wealth of knowledge
about it and everything that has been done to it.

A great car for an enthusiast that wants a very solid and clean driver
to bring to the shows and the local cars and coffee.
Its well sorted and shows well, a car you can be proud of.
