This Palm Springs based 62 Beetle is a very clean little driver.
It was a California car since new. It did have it's restoration work done in New Mexico
but now it is back is the Golden State where the palm trees sway and the metal never rusts.
The car is very clean and attractive from all views.
Stock and simple...the way they should be.
No modifications or lowering or anything silly...just a good solid honest simple Beetle.
On the solid statement...here is the drivers side floorpan...all original and solid as can be.
Passenger side has had a replacement panel under the battery area but it appears to have been very cleanly done.
Looks nice and solid in the spare tire well area...
Under the hood is clean and a carpet mat slid in place to keep your groceries happy.
The engine is a good running stock 40 horse, still 6 volt electrics and with the original large diameter
distributor. The carb and fuel pump has been replaced and the air cleaner is not original but other than that it is all stock.
A bamboo parcel tray comes with the car as an added bonue.

Looks like new shocks in the back.
Under the carpet up front the wiring looks good and all is clean.
Spare tire well looks very straight.
Nice to see the original jack in its holder.
Engine is not detailed all pretty but the owner states it runs and drives very well.
Paint is in very good shape, body looks wonderfully straight.
Nice panel fit...everything seems well put together.
Stock wheels have been painted body color and are wrapped with good radial tires.
Clean.
The interior is done in all black.
Seats and carpet and headliner too were all done not long ago and look great.
The whole interior looks pretty sweet.
Simple...but sweet.
I am told the radio is not working and that the paint on the steering column is not pretty.
But other than that it is all good to go.
Overall very clean looking car.
The California vintage plates are registered to the car.
Clean title and current registration.
Door panels look good...these too are new.
Originally in 62, the panels would have been two tone grey and white
and the interior probably done to match.
Here you can see a peek at the paint on the steering column...
The ladybog floor mats are fun.
In closing this is a very nice driver quality restoration on a super solid original car.
Its not a concour level restoration but as you can see it has a very fresh and clean look to it and
I think it is a wonderful little car. And priced reasonably!!
