1981 Volkswagen Scirocco For Sale

OK...I know what some of you guys are thinking...
"What's a water cooled VW doing on Oldbug.com?"
Well...as the years tick by, the watercooled cars get older and older.
Think about it for a minute...a 74 Dasher is now 34 years old!
The Vintage VW Club recognizes models 25 years old and older...so the time has come.

One of the coolest first generation water cooled cars is the Scirocco...the sports car of the whole line up.
This 1981 model is a great example of a well preserved original. With just over 50,000 miles on the odometer
it still has lots of life left in it and it is obvious by the photos that the car has been very well preserved.

Its a California car since new
(well almost...about a year or two ago it moved across the country a bit to it's current home in Cedar Rapids Iowa)
Original window sticker and maintenance records since day one are included.
Very well documented history and everything works on the car including the dealer installed Air Conditioning system.

The body is very straight and the paint is clean...adult owned and pampered since new.

Tasteful upgrades have been made such as the wheels and tires, European style bumpers,
and some mild suspension upgrades such as H&R coilovers and stress bars front and back.
Buyer will get the car as shown plus all the original parts including some extras and a fitted
flannel cover to keep the little car warm on those cold nights.

Is this the face of a Vintage VW?
Yes...yes it is.

Paintwork is original and in nice shape.

No wrecks, no rust, everything works.

California plate included.

Very clean and well kept. Tires are good on the very cool 80's looking BBS style wheels.

Solid rockers, good door gaps, never wrecked or mistreated.

Great body lines on these cars...crisp and clean.

Open up and say "ahhhh"... a VW with the engine in the front...something new here at Oldbug.com

Engine compartment is clean and complete...car runs and drives excellent.

Under the hood is clean and tidy as well with all the original warning stickers and such.

A tad bit of road grime underneath but certainly not much.

Clean and solid...not restored, just well kept.

Very nice looking in white...

The interior is all original and is in pretty amazing shape.
The cars of this era were not known for holding up as well as the earlier bretheren, but this one has seen
gentle car and use and the results are self evident.

Headliner is clean and intact.

Seats are in pretty amazing shape and the padding still holding up nicely.

Door panels look great

Dash pad

A couple of cracks across the speaker grille area, but that is about it.

All instruments are working and the mileage shown is documented as the original.

Center console and dealer installed air conditioning controls

Original AM/FM cassette radio and face plate have been stored safely with the car since new.

One noteable flaw in the corner of the seat.

Rear shelf in nice shape too.

Instructions instructions instructions...everywhere...welcome to the age of warning labels!

Spare tire well in the trunk is very clean indeed. Original spare wheel and tire as well as the jack and such.

So...how about considering adding one of the coolest "water pumpers" that VW has made to your collection?
This one looks pretty cherry indeed and it's a model that I can sure see rising in value in the future.
The Scirocco was very cool in it's day...and I think it is still cool now in the modern world.
