This is a drop dead gorgeous 67 that is located in the state of
Illinois.
The owner bout the car in 2006 from a fellow in Southern California
who had just completed a very full professional restoration of the car.
When it was purchased from California it had just 60 miles on it...so
it was fresh.
After arrival and some break in miles, additional work was done to
bring it to fully operational
condition and it has been a very good reliable weekend toy for the
owner of the past 6 years...now it shows
just 6900 miles on the odomenter, that was reset at the time of the
restoration...so it is still very very low mileage.
The car has been garaged and driven only on the sunny days...never out
in the rain or snow.
The restoration still looks wonderfully fresh.
The restoration of the car is done very well and a strong focus on
originality and building a car
that is correct and just as it was as it rolled off the dealer lot.
Proper bumpers and taillights for a US spec car
Stunning black paint with red interior
Its a nice car all the way through
A few prime accessories such as the parcel tray and tissue box.
The oatmeal carpet goes well with the red and black...very attractive.
Paint quality is very nice...trim is bright
Excellent glass and rubber
Check out that reflection!!
Nice tires on the stock wheels with trim rings.
So smooth!
Great color combination!
Interior is excellent, rubber seals and such are all supple and good.
Totally stock and un-altered dash.
The steering wheel is very clean...instruments are sharp and functional.
The radio brings in static surprisingly well...but little else...not
sure what is up there.
The car has been very well cared for by it's owner.
But it is time for it to go to make a little room in the garage.
Bumpers look great. Engine lid is the correct 67 only unit.
Really sharp!
Not often you see a black Convertible...it is very classy.
Picture it with some thin whitewalls or something like that...it would
be like a little rolling tuxedo!
In 1967, only 7,583 Convertible Beetles were built...its a pretty rare
machine in the world of Beetles!
Top appears excellent and is very well fit.
Headliner is clean...top seals are good, top frame is clean and solid.
The underside of the car is very solid and cleanly detailed.
Not concours level stuff, but very presentable.
New tire on the spare.
Trunk liner looks clean
Door seals are in great shape
Very solid underneath
Nice reflection.
The photos at the top of the page with the "Law Bug" plate are
recent...just taken for the listing.
This series of images with the California plate show the car as it was
when the owner bought it.
As you can see, the car has aged very well.
This is the engine when freshly done...it now has just 6900 miles on it
so I imagine it still looks great!
Here are photos of the car prior to the restoration...looked pretty
nice!!
Some of these restoration shots show the extent of the work done...no
stone was left unturned.
Im sure there must be a little dust and road grime on the chassis now
after a few years and a handful of miles
but these photos sure show how far they went with it all...it is very
cool to see this.
Wow!
Here are a few shots of the car during the paint and body parts of the
restoration...
These black and white shots show the body prior to paint...when it was
all stripped down.
Looks like new floor pans
Rear luggage shelf replaced...really well done.
Maybe a minor repair in the fender well here
Its come a long way...but it sure looks like the quality of the work
was fantastic.
They went all the way with it!
And today it is as beautiful as can be!
The owner states that is runs well enough that he would not hesitiate
to drive it across the country.
