1974 VW Thing

This very fun VW Thing hails from Newport Oregon where it is done up as an ONP
Beach Patrol vehicle. Its all in good fun, it is not a genuine patrol car, but it is done in the proper city
colors and markings and has been used by a local Red Cross member as a fun promotional vehicle.
Its a strong runner and a great looker. The graphics are done in vinyl, so they could be easily removed.

Great brush guard set up and those cool red horns.


Accessory spotlight is very cool (and functional)
This removes for driving.

Stock 14" wheels with very good BF Goodrich tires


Very clean car from all angles.


Straight body...nice top.
Accessory fog light on the back bumper.


Loos pretty smooth down the sides.


The BF Goodrich tires ride so smooth!


There are a couple of minor paint blisters...nothing horrible.



Very clean under the hood.




Solid up front...no signs of damage or repair.


Jack is in place

Dash is clean and looks proper


Nice rollbar tucked in under the top



Clean interior


Seats are not original VW seats but fit well and are comfortable


Rear seat upholstered to match



Odometer reads 34,000 miles...


Tachometer is functional

Car hasd a clean and clear Oregon title


Excellent running, and very clean 1600cc dual port engine.




Not detailed underneath, but not nasty with grime or grease.


Chassis is original and untouched...could use a clean and fresh undercoat perhaps.





In closing this is a very nice Thing.
Clean and fun and ready to drive and enjoy.
A great buy for the money.
