1962 VW Double Cab Transporter For Sale
This one is for all you patina lovers out there!
Droolingly perfect faded blue-jeans look to this original paint work
horse.
This awesome barn find has been pulled out of hiding and treated to the
works when it comes
to upgrades in stance and performance.
The drop, the wheels, the look...al of it is just so perfect!
Bumpers were left nasty too, all of it just looks "right".
The vast majority of the truck looks to be original paint, but there
was obviously
some work done to this corner at some point,
but the fade is consistent and it all blends in perfect.
The inside of the truck is clean and civilized with belts in the back
for the kids
and nice upholstery.
The original paint on the dash and interior has shined up well.
A few modern additions such as the Berg shifter and moster tach tell
you that this is no longer some old farm truck.
It is now a serious street machine.
There are some normal old Bus rust spots on this one...areas that could
be left as is or dealt with .
There has been a little rust repair done to the drivers side rocker and
the paint belended in a bit...you can see in this pic the
panel under the bed has faded a bit different...a repair from
long long ago.
Overall vibe to it though is just awesome.
The Auto Meter monster tach tells you what the big two litre engine out
back is doing when you push the go pedal.
Dash is all original paint and has a very clean, un-cut virgin look to
it.
Gates and bed are untouched and look very solid.
Very impressive to see original gates without the bottoms rusted out!
The sun fade to the nose is some of Mother Nature's best work...it just
looks perfect.
There is something about a faded truck like this that just pleases all
who look at it.
They are only original once!
Gene Berg shifter controls the cogs in the Pro Street freeway flyer
gear box.
A little crusty spot here in the back corner.
I just love this shot... not doctored up and caked with filler like 99%
of these out there.
What you see is what you get!
Drivers side wheel arch looks pretty solid...just a wee bit of rust
starting to show.
Great bed!
Church key
There is a very odd rust out spot along the passenger side above the
wheel arch.
It adds character to be sure...it could of course be repaired and
blended in...but the hard part with having a faded finish
like this and trying to preserve it, is that the more you touch it, the
less original it becomes.
The current owner wanted to preserve as much as possible...so it was
left alone.
The next owner may decide that this needs to be done...
Mechanically this truck is all fresh, engine, trans, brakes,
suspension...and all top level
quality parts and workmanship throughout.
It looks like the inner and outer rockers have been replaced, but
everything else remains untouched.
Front floor has a tiny bit of break through but it suprisingly sound
for being all original.
The 17" Fuchs wheels are superb, with 4.5" wide up front and 6" wide in
back.
Porsche 944 disc brakes all the way around.
Front beam has been narrowed 4" and fitted with drop spindles.
Safari windows are of course in place.
Tiny bit of rust on the passenger side floor
Euro style fluted glass lenses on unrestored headlight buckets
So cool
4 wheel disc brakes
The engine is a screamer!
2110 cc = 82 x 90.5

SuperFlow Heads big valve 48X42 Triple spring

Fully Machined 48 IDA's 3rd progression drilled, detail painted, loaded

Aprox 9.5:1 compression
And all very fresh with minimal miles.
Long spoon latches on the pop outs.
Back floor looks great.
In closing...this look may not be for everybody, but it is certainly
the most popular style in the VW scene today.
That faded original look, but with fully upgraded mechanics so it can
be used and driven in the fast paced world of today.
This is a great truck, very genuine and honest and everything that has
been done to it upgrade wise is top shelf!
