1963 VW 15 Window Deluxe Microbus For Sale
Im going to start here with this...a First in Class win at the VW Classic 2012 just a couple weeks ago.
The second showing of this Bus and the second first place award...
This is a gorgeous 1963 Deluxe Hardtop Microbus in sealing wax red and beige grey.
Very classic vintage style, showroom condition top and bottom and just plain beautiful.
The paint and body is excellent...super smooth down the sides, all new everything.
The underside of the Bus is restored and detailed as well...this is a very nice example indeed!
I honestly dont think they looked this nice when they rolled off the assembly line!
Very minor upgrades in the form of radial tires and disc front brakes...otherwise very stock and proper.
Its all new under here...and very clean.
Safari front windows and the pop out side windows with long latches...a wonderful breeze flows through this one!
Even a safari rear window!!
The safari rear window is not an original option, but it looks great!
Interior is superb, all fresh and clean top to bottom.
Matching ice chest!
Top quality carpet and materials used inside.
Fit and finish is excellent.
Hey...I found a flaw (it took a bit)...a missing screw on one of the window latches!
Engine room is very clean and well detailed.
chassis number intact.
Fuel tank nicely painted.
Latches are clean

Stock distributor
The engine is a strong running very fresh 1200cc.
Converted to 12 volt electrics, otherwise stock.
The aircleaner by the way is missing in this photo but will be put in place before delivery.
Floors are super clean...new hardware on the hinges...all very nice.
Cloth headliner is very nicely done.
I found another itty bitty flaw...a wee crack in the steering wheel hub.
The rest looks fantastic.
Speedometer was rebuilt and mileage at the time of the photos shows 590 since completion of the restoration.
Handles and chrome are excellent.
Love the safari windows!
Lenses are superb
Correct 15" wheels with beauty rings and hubcap trims and the great vintage look wide whitewalls.
Door seals are all new and fresh.
Jams are clean
New mats and seat belts. Note the hinge caps on the cargo door hinges...well done.
The original M code tag is not present, but the bulkead wall is clean and well painted.
Seats are excellent and done in the proper materials and patterns.
H pattern heater control knob is not "correct" but looks very cool.
Stock radio in the dash...nice drink caddy too.
New hardware on the fresh air vent.
Visors are excellent.
Accessory locking steering column and ignition is a desirable accessory.
Shift pattern knob is cool too!
Tick tock...here is the clock.
Here is the other first place award!
Great Bus inside and out...really nice.
Cargo door latches and handles look great.
Rear seat has the proper kick panel and luggage rail in place.
Center seat has the grab handles and kick panel on the end as well.
Interior panels have the proper materials and trims.
Cargo floor is superb as well.
Room for the whole family!
Underside of the engine is very clean.
The whole underbelly is shiny and pretty.
Very smooth and glossy paint work.
Love the long latches....these side windows open wide!!
The 15 window models like this are pretty tough to find.
In fact I think they may be rarer production wise than their sunroof equipped brothers.
They have all the class and flash of the sunroof models but at a massively reduced price.
Take a look at the 23 window on our site at the moment at nearly double the price!
If you ask me...this makes much more sense...buy this one and then go buy another cool vintage car
and have both for the same money!
There is an auxillary oil cooler and fan tucked up under the floor on the driver's side.
The Bus was originally assembled with a performance engine in it, but now the stock 1200cc engine has been put in place
so this cooler is perhaps a little overkill...but it is here.
In closing this is an excellent Bus and it is priced at a very very realistic level for the market today.
The owner needs to sell it so it is priced right!
I think this one will sell fast!!
