Quick note... the photos above show the car with the genuine Meyers Manx
nose emblem fitted.
This is on the car now...the photos below show the car without it...so please
dont get confused about that.
It has it now and it is the real deal, as is the car.
***
Here we have a genuine real deal Meyers Manx buggy that has been fully restored
and re-worked over the past couple of years into a very clean and fully fresh
driver that is ready for fun.
There are a lot of dune buggies out there but finding a real Meyers Manx
is a bit of a challenge.
In addition, so many of these buggies have had the life beat out of them
with years of off roading
and hard running. Getting a "good one" is a challenge.
Clean instrumentation and the Meyers authentication tag.
Interior is very clean and well done.
Nice simple roll bar and that sweet polished aluminum windshield frame.
Lower edge of body reinforced with some diamond plate , all painted black
for a uniform look.
Wiring is all new and cleanly routed.
This was a full, body off restoration and the chassis is super clean and
solid.
Very nice under here!
Just 227 miles on the speedometer since the restoration.
Chassis has been "Line X" sprayed for durability...very cleanly done.
Access plate cleanly built to allow for easy cable changes.
Rear deck is carpeted and edges all bound.
High back seats are in excellent shape and are very comfortable.
What a great face these Manx's have...and it is no wonder, they are windly
fun and always bring a smile
to those behind the wheel as well as all who see it going down the road!
Suspension and steering is all rebuilt and super clean.
New everything!
Check out the slick LED turn signal lights up front here.
Great look to it...the perfect color and with the widened stock VW wheels
it has a classic 70's look,
New tires all the way around.
I love the chromed taillights and plate light...a detail that was on
a lot of the early genuine Meyers cars that you dont see done very often
today.
The Manx emblem on the rear deck is great as well./
It sits nice... plenty of clearance if you go off road.
The chassis has the IRS rear suspension which is awesome for driving on and
off road.
You dont get the rear wheel "tuck" of the swing axle rear end and the ball
joint front end is strong and simple.
Fully registered in California as a 1970, so no smog testing or foolish stuff
like that.
Original copper Hurst shifter is a very rare sight these days!!
The dash panel is a genuine Manx item that the owner got from Bruce Meyes...the
"fold down"
style that allows for easy access to the wiring and such for service.
The authenticity badge is a big deal as well...adds greatly to the value
of the car.
There are a lot of buggies out there that claim to be a real Manx...and they
arent!
Always garaged and kept out of the bad weather.
The restoration was a labor of love for the owner, a project he put a ton
of time and money into and the
effort is certainly seen in the end result here.
Fuel filler right up front, (with vent tube)
Very clean fit of the turn signals up front!
Wheels were powder coated for durability and they sure look awesome.
Nice big knobbies out back, but not too "bumpy" for the street.
Nice Goodyear street tires up front.
Grant GT steering wheel
Engine is a super clean 1600cc dual port that has been recently refreshed
with
rebuilt cylinder heads, new pistons and cylinders, rebuilt distributor, new
clutch and powder coated engine tins.
Ceramic coated exhaust looks awesome.
All of it really clean!
Like new!
The shifter is awesome...and I even like the wee little Coleman lantern key
ring.
No wipers on this one...so check your local lows on this.
Certainly not hard or expensive to install some.
Behind the stock taillights are very bright LED lighting units that really
make their presence known!
A vast improvement over the stock reflectors and bulbs.
The car is located in Santa Maria California by the way.
So fun!
This is a great little car.
All fresh and ready for a long life ahead.
The owner did a great job with it. It has come along way since he first hauled
it home as a basket case.
Now it is a star!
