1951/54 VW Beetle Sunroof For Sale

This Nebraska based Split Beetle is a very cool and interesting
car.
Its a bit of an assemblage rather than a period perfect example
but that brings it into the fun category rather than a serious
collectible.

The car is titled as a 1954 yet appears closer to a 1951
or perhaps even earlier.

With a body lift and taller tires it gives off
some Type 82E military era vibes,
but with a freeway flyer transmission and a 12 volt 1915cc
engine it is a car that easily cruises the highways at 70 mph
(although the non directional tire tread does make those speeds a
bit white knuckle)

I love the matte finish paint and lack of chrome.

Such a fun beast of a Beetle!

Like an old school full fender Class 11 off road car, but classy
and civilized!

Being a split window it attracts some fantastic attention at the
shows
and with the huge rag top its even cooler.

Split window sunroof!
The ultimate Beetle?

Interior has been done in the early stitch patters, but in a cloth
material for comfort.
Split dash with all the right bits, functional semaphore switch,
push button starter and more.

Out back sits the 1915cc engine with big two barrel carb.
It sits low in the engine room thanks to the body lift
so there is plenty of room for the big carb and tall air cleaner.
Really runs awesome with plenty of power.

KDF style hubcaps look awesome on the 15" wheels with epic 7.00-
25 LT tires.

Functional semaphore signals!

Vintage Speed shifter with iron cross knob.
Wild machined cup holder set up on the tunnel for the beverage of
your choice.

Interior was done in California by Octavios in 2008.

Nicely done headliner

Sunroof functions well

Love it

The car did spend some time in Southern California and attended
several
of the events out here and it always trophies at the shows in the
Nebraska area

Cool license pate bracket

Very nice interior, matching belts, etc...well done and well kept.

Pretty clean up front as well

Large mouth fuel tank

Solid spare tire well

Gas gauge!

Disc brakes up front!

Chassis is solid

Deep oil sump

Drum brakes out back

Solid and well kept.

External oil filter.

Split taillights

Cog wheel hood emblem.

Great dash

Way fun!

So its a mixed breed at best but there is a lot of legitimacy
mixed in with it.
Some great original early parts blended with some modern
performance and braking.
In the end its a great way to get into the world of Split Beetles
and actually have
something that is drive able in today's fast paced world.
