Kubelwagen Replica For Sale

Genuine WW2 Kubelwagens are not an easy find here in the US
and the values of them are significant.
Fortunately over the years there have been some talented builders out there
that have build some pretty convincing replicas such as this one
that absolutely have the look, without the sticker shock.

This Arizona based replica was made by Kubelkraft in New Mexico in 2023.
Based on a 1968 VW Beetle chassis with an all steel replica Kubel body shell.
Well accessorized and detailed with period spec parts and paint scheme
to truly look like the real deal.

The onwer went to great efforts sourcing the right parts to complete the vision.
16" wheels with period style tread tires are perhaps the most important visual upgrade.
So often I see replicas done with the incorrect size and it just ruins it for me...this one is spot on.

Top up or down its ready for historical reenactment or film use.
Being on a more modern chassis helps with driveability as well.
The originals are very crude and slow, this one will actually motor down the road with traffic.

I love the period cammouflage, done to replicate actual cars in the field in the era.

Notek light on the hood and the cool canvas covers for the headlights.
I love the fender mounted fuel can and the shovel on the opposite side

Really neat car.

Condition is very good. Car has been well kept since completion
and has been stored indoors but driven regularly.

The replica German plates are a nice touch.
It is registered in Arizona as a 1943 VW and has a clear title in the owners name.

Dash and controls look correct overall, speedometer is from the donor 68
and has the fuel gauge within.
Correct period stencils , a three spoke steering wheel
and cool wooden duck board floors .

Fold down windshield is great for cruising and getting some wind in your face.

Rear storage area behind the back seat

Seating is very basic as the originals were.

Simple canvas seat covers

Door stencils are period correct as well

Matching spare wheel and tire

Early style exterior horn

1600cc dual port engine with 12 volt electrics.
Excellent runner with just about 4000 miles on it since install.
Mechanically the seller states it is an excellent driver.

Another period detail the owner hunted down

Neat stuff!

Rear taillight as well has the correct period look

Love those 16" wheels and cool knobby tires.

With the top up and side curtains fitted, it takes on a whole different look.
The owner says the top is water tight (or reasonably so)
and that it has a couple small patches done in canvas as they would have been done in the field.
It all fits and functions properly and has a great look to it.

Underneath the chassis is solid but does have a little surface rust in spots

Again this is a 1968 Beetle chassis.

I just love it, and I feel the owner has it priced right for a fast sale to a new happy owner.
I dont think you could build one for the asking price, and even if you could,
it would take you a lot of valuable time and effort to do it.
This one is turn-key and ready to play!
