1970 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe For Sale

This gorgeous 1970 Karmann Ghia is located in Florida.
It has just had a very nice quality cosmetic restoration done with a
keen eye for detail
and the car has a very fresh, showroom appearance.

Interior is all freshly done as well and it just looks great.

Very clean and ready for fun.
All new carpet, seat upholstery, headliner, etc.

There is a fat stack of receipts for the work done on the car.The
original owners manual and service books are present.

The underside of the car is original and very very solid.
This car has a known history and just a shade over 100k miles since new.

Very very solid chassis on this car!

Underside of the engine is quite clean

Engine room is superb, very well detailed and done to factory specs.

Runs and drives excellent, brakes are all fresh, all systems have been
serviced and it is a delightful driver.

The paint and bodywork is very nice indeed,
this was done in the correct original color for the car and all the
factory trim and details were retained.

Chrome is excellent, all the window rubbers and body seals are new.
Fit and finish is excellent.

The nose is perfect, this is not a car that has been wrecked or rusted
and been patched together,
this is a car that started out prior to the restoration as a very good
original car.

Really an attractive car.
The Karmann Ghia design is so pure and so pretty.

All stock inside and out.
Never lowered or hot rodded.

Clean Florida title.

Gorgeous!

Back seat is in excellent shape

All fresh and new

Original seat belts are in place.
Nice to see details like the decal in the door jam, etc.
The restorer really did his research and did the car well.

New woodgrain on the dash, dash pad is excellent, instruments and
steering wheel are in wonderful shape.

I like that the restorer did things the way the factory did.
I so often see Ghias with the engine compartment painted black, rather
than the original body color.
It really looks so clean like this...and it is correct this way!

The owner provided some photos of the restoration process.
Here is the engine compartment going back together after paint

The engine was cleaned and re-sealed and tuned properly.
It has been inspected and did not need rebuilding, it appears that the
heads were redone at some
point and were in great shape. The carburetor has been rebuilt, all
fresh ignition parts, etc.
It is a very good runner.

Here is an inside shot with the carpet out...you can see the body and
chassis are very solid originals.

Here it is back from the paint shop and assembly just getting started.
It was stripped down to a rolling shell, but was not taken off the
chassis.

Wiring and trans were all masked off well.

Here is a photo of the engine compartment prior to painting...looks
pretty solid!

Here you can see that the underside of the dash was also painted.

Rear luggage area was sprayed with a rust prohibitive finish.

Under the front hood

This pre-restoration shot of the inside of the front shows that it is
really a solid and straight example!
Ghia's are notorious for having "nose jobs"...this one is factory
beautiful all the way!

The only notable rust that the car had was some in the lower corners of
the rear fenders.
This was properly cut out and welded and has been repaired
professionally.

It was a good solid original car prior to the restoration...it as just
time to respray and
fix the few issues and bring it back to it's original glory.

And here it is all completed.
It truly is a "good one" and knowing the builder through his past
projects, I know him to
be very detail oriented and not the kind of guy that would cut corners.
It is a car that can be bought in confidence...you will like it!
