1953 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale
1953 was a time of change at the VW factory.
The post war efforts were successful and the Beetle was well on its way to its
eventual stardom in the world of the automobile and for the first time since
production started, there was a truly noticeable change in the style of the Beetle's backside.
After March of 1953, the split rear window was gone, and the Oval era began.
The larger rear bumpers and 15" wheels had been introduced in October of 1952 and for
that interim period the "zwitter" cars were built...but the first of the true Ovals were post March of 53.
The Oval window Beetles, much like their predecessors have a very strong following in the
world of VW collecting. The Oval era is a beautiful era and among those cars the earliest examples
are the most cherished. This particular example is a spectacular one.
It is the result of a full nut and bolt restoration of an excellent one family owned car that was completed in 2008.
The car has been very well kept since and minimal miles put on it, it still looks fresh.
The car has an added bit of provenance in that it was used in the Wolfsburg West catalog
which is where these images came from. It truly is a dreamy specimen.
(oh...and if you ever need VW parts... Wolfsburg West should be your first stop)
Here is a peek inside from the studio shots...perfection.

To sum it all up...this is arguably the nicest 53 Oval in the US on the market today.
Great colors, great history and a stellar restoration.
Hopefully the photos have done the car justice..but in person I feel it is even better.
