1979 Beetle Convertible For Sale

The "Last Convertible".
Well...OK...not the actual "last" one, but the final year of the Convertible Beetle production
and in the most desirable color combination of "triple white".

The car was sold new in Redlands California at Jack Feeley VW.
It has been in the same family since new, starting with Aunt of the current owner
and a few years with his daughter.

The car has always been well cared for but has never been "restored".
It did receive a re-paint  in the original color in 1990.
The catalytic converter was replaced in 2002 and the convertible top was redone in 2010.

The car is not perfect but it is very presentable and attractive.

The stock 1600cc engine has all the correct emissions bits in place and it passes the strict
California emissions testing.  A new battery was installed this year as well as replacement of the intake boot
and over the years the engine has received regular maintenance.

Never any big wrecks or disasters and it is very solid being a car from the dry California climate.

Under the front hood looks very stock with the original trunk liners in place and a nice accessory strut bar.

The white 8 spoke aluminum wheels match the car very well and it remains at stock suspension height.
Never modified or customized in any way.

Top is in very nice condition.

The sun has cracked the dash pad in a couple spots and the horn button also seems to be coming loose a bit.

Original interior door panels are looking a little saggy in the pockets and have some warping.
Fortunately quality replacements are readily available and are easy to install.

Seat upholstery is in overall good shape but shows some age and discoloration.
Perhaps a very good clean with a good product in here will brighten these all back up.
Carpet under rear window is sun damaged.

The speedometer needle is broken and about 12 years ago the owner disconnected the odometer as
the unit was making noises, so the mileage on the car is really unknown.

The interior is definitely serviceable as is, its a comfy place to sit and drive
but it is showing a little bit of age.

Glass is all good

Lights and lenses look great

Very nice top

Smooth and straight down the sides

I love the white spoked wheels

Seats are looking good and the padding was replaced years ago.

Top down...lets roll!

Such a pretty car.

Factory clock and woodgrain finish on the dash.
This is the "Champagne Edition" and the triple white combination
was sent to dealerships in limited numbers.

Old school "Sparkomatic" Cassette player in the dash.

Front apron looks very clean

Karmann badge is in place.

Underside is solid.

Very good under the spare wheel as well.

Wood shift knob.

Clean trim and fender beading

Nice

Running board rubber is cracked from the sun.

Carpet deterioration under the window

Cracked plastic hinge covers at the top.
(replacements are available through several sources)

Small dent on the drivers side front fender.
Fixing the handful of little details like this will greatly improve the car
and fortunately its all pretty simple stuff.

Mega solid underneath looking at these pics.

In  closing a very good example of the desirable "triple white" last edition of the air cooled Beetle.
