1965 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe For Sale

This sweet Karmann Ghia comes to us from Bakersfield area of California.
Its received a nice restoration in 2010 and was purchased by the current owner in 2021.
Three owners since new,

Its history is well known and documented, being sold new in Danville Virginia
and was kept by the original owner until being sold in 2001 to the second owner.
It was the second owner that did the restoration.

During the current owner's time with it,
it has had disc brakes installed on the front, rear brakes serviced,
a new battery and some other repairs.  It runs and drives well.

Arcona White roof and Henna Red body color according to the owner and it sure looks nice.

The body is thought to be all original and the car has had no accidents.
It looks very solid in these photos as well as the ones of the chassis .
The story is that it has always been garaged and kept out of the weather
and it sure looks like it from the images.

Nice reflections down the sides, door fit looks good, body trim all lines up well

Stock height as it should be, with the nose just slightly higher like a puppy at attention
and ready to play. And what a fun puppy this car will be for its next owner!

Open up and say ahhh...lets look in a little deeper shall we?

Front trunk has been carpeted nicely and I gotta say the little window for the body tag
is something I have never seen anyone do before and I dig it.

Chrome, lights and lenses all look great

Very clean

Headlight ring here I see has the proper Hella logo at the top.

Very clean nose on the car.

Under the rear seat looks very solid and clean.

Here's a shot of the clean trunk set up...very tidy.
The spare tire cover fits great and it looks like the hood seal
and latches are all in super clean and fresh condition.

The new dis brake setup installed in 2023 adds some safety to
the car which is welcome in today's world.

Chassis looks very solid and overall quite clean

Very nice to see the pans with all the proper stampings,
no crazy patch panels or heavy undercoating hiding who knows what.

Tires look very good as well

Clean exhaust tips

Engine case number is reportedly the original to the car.
1200cc , and the transaxle too is the original

Nice and clean and all the right trim and tins are here and well fit.

Engine room looks very clean as does the engine itself.
Electrics have been converted to 12 volts.

Very nicely detailed

Check out the reflection in the paint.
The only flaw the seller noted were a couple chips just at the edge of the door
behind the door handle.

Glass is all excellent as is the trim and rubber

Another trunk shot...boy they did a nice job in here.

Headliner looks great

Clean door sills and jams.
Interior done in a super happy red and white to match the exterior.

Dash was painted in the white color as well which blends in nice
visually with the interior colors and design.

Clock is not working but the other gauges function properly.

Dash looks very clean and unmodified.

Back seat as well looks super clean and well done.

Under dash lighting added just for fun.
Carpets all look nice as well

Another front brake shot...looks like its barely been driven since install.

Fresh battery installed in 2023

Love the stock Sapphire 1 radio!

Stock wheels with standard dome hubcaps and optional trim rings.
The painted VW logo in the center is also a very nice touch.
This is obviously a car that was restored by someone that really hit the details.

Another headliner shot...looks fantastic.
Pop out rear quarter windows work as they should and the rubber seals
all look to be in nice condition.

Rear seat has most likely never been sit in.

Handles and controls all well painted and detailed.

Dash pad looks great too

The car really shows nicely.
Definitely a car that one can be proud to run around town.
I am certain that the compliments and smiles come with every drive!

The personalized California plates come with the car as well

Looking solid and clean under here

Dome light even works!

Rear parcel shelf is nicely upholstered to match.

New glove box

Lights are all working

Nose looks very nice!

Small chip in the windshield on the passenger side down low.

Here is the most notable paint flaw...a couple tiny chips by the handle

Original owners manual, dealership ID card for the first owner
and a couple of Karmann Ghia sales brochures included.

Glass all has the correct logos

In closing this really looks like a fun car.
I love the history of it, as well as the restoration details look great.
The interior colors obviously are diversion from factory specs
but that just makes it more fun. I am sure that someone out there will fall
deeply in love with this one...is that someone you??
