1957 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale

SOLD!

This is a truly exceptional original "survivor" Oval window Beetle.
What you see here is NOT restored...but original and extremely well preserved.
With just over 62,000 original careful miles!

It was bought new at Davella Motors in Meriden CT by a lady who drove the car sparingly for quite a few years
and she brought it back to the original dealer in about 1974 as a trade in.
The dealer kept it and put it on the showroom floor until they closed down in the mid 90's
...the son of the dealership owner kept it for a while after that and then sold it to a local guy,
who sold it to a collector in New Jersey that I know very well...he sold it to the current owner who is here in California.
It was at the VW Treffen recently...took 2nd in it's class.
Davella Motors was one of the very first VW dealers in the US by the way.

If you are into VWs like I am...when you see a car like this that is truly original and so clean..
it just stops you in your tracks. There is seriously nothing that holds a candle to an original "virgin" like this!

Original interior...WOW!

Cars like this are so valuable to the VW scene...they show folks how
they really "should be"...a benchmark to aim for when doing an accurate restoration.
In addition...an original car like this just feels so awesome!
The smell, the touch, the whole experience of owning and driving a vintage car
is amplified when it truly is "all" vintage!

The original headliner is in impressive condition.

Seats look so nice.

Coco mats cover and help preserve the original rubber mats below.

Nice accessory mirror visor

The flower vase is another nice addition.

Steering wheel looks amazing!

Look at the speedometer too...note the shift range overlay on the glass...the poor man's tachometer!

Original exhaust

Look at these running boards...they are the originals with the ribs stopping just shy of the ends.

And the original stuff just fits so nice...compare this gap between the fender and running board on most VWs
and you will see my point clearly here.

Chrome looks very nice!

Superb Wolfsburg crest

Wheels are correct colors and the painted logo on the cap is proper!

The cleanliness of the engine is really impressive....and yes...it is the original engine to the car.

Wow!

The interior is just fantastic.
Finding one this clean and all original is an extreme rarity.

Original...yes...original.

We had a very good customer go check the car out in person recently.
This is a guy that is an absolute fanatic about original cars. He was not serious about buying it
but he just had to see it up close and his response was that it was truly amazing.
Coming from him I have no doubt that this is so.

Clean California title by the way...

The bias ply blackwalls are in great shape and look so good on the car.
Sure...whitewalls would jazz it up a lot...but there is something about the understated look.

Look at the reflections in the paint...nobody paints them like the factory did!

Stunning car inside and out!

Original carpets in truly amazing shape.

Stunning...and the smell...oh my that awesome smell of an original Beetle interior...like perfume for the VW nut!

Clean in the back seat area.

Nice collection of awards and historical trinkets come with the car as well.

The car was in a collection back East for a number of years before coming out to California where it is today.

I love the original plate and frame and those protective floor mats from the dealer are amazing!
The car was kept by this dealer for many years, on display in the showroom after buying it back from the original purchaser in 1974.

The car looks so amazing and it is truly original top to bottom
Such amazing shape...I am totally blown away by it...it must be one of the best in the world today!
SOLD!
(open to interesting trades up or down...owner is really after a nice split window Beetle)
