This sweet Coral Red 56 Sedan is a car I have known of for a good 20 years or more!
Owned by a local fellow in So Cal I have been chatting with the owner about VWs as long as I can remember.
Its been a long time since I had seen him last but while at a local show this weekend ...there he was!
And his sweet little Oval Window was looking as good as ever.
This car was restored back in the 90's and the work was done very well.
It still looks quite fresh thanks to fanatical care and proper storage.
Wide white Denman bias ply tires on the two tone wheels with painted emblems on the caps.
Lots of nice detail on this car.
Very very stock in appearance...paint is still stunning.
Chrome is bright and clean.
Interior still very nice.
Accessory passenger side visor
Very very straight and smooth bodywork
Bullet signals on the fenders...the headlight lenses are correct VW logo units.
Wolfsburg crest and Volkswagen scrips on the hood.
The car was restored top to bottom.
There is some age of course to the underside after years of driving but as you will see it still looks quite nice.
I will show some more underside shots in a bit... but rest assured it is a solid ride.
Window rubbers and body seals seem to be holding up quite well.
The interior colors really look nice against the body color.
Nice fit and finish.
It is a very good looking car.
Im sure if you look super close up front you might find a stone chip or two,
but knowing the owner and his fastidious ways...it has always been taken care of very well.
The car has won a ton of awards in it's day!

Underside of the engine still looks great.
Quite dry and tidy.
The seats and panels are very nice in the colors chosen...this is a reverse of the more common red with white piping,
And it really makes the interior very clean and bright.
Seats still look great.
Square weave wool carpets have just a couple discoloration spots from age but are still holding up very well.
Radio is obviously not period correct but the dash has not been cut out all nasty or anything.
Steering wheel and horn push look nice.
Door panels are clean,

It is a correct 4 tab hood.

Jack is clean and nicely restored.
Out back the engine is also very clean and well detailed.
Still 6 volt electrics.
All very clean in here.
Under the engine lid is very clean and well detailed.
Note the inner lens on the decklid light...a part very commonly missing.
Clean!
Door latches and hardware are nice and clean.
Som ever so slight shrinking and warpage to the door panels...not quite as fit and flat as when first done.
Rear seat looks great!
Headliner is holding up excellent.
Domelight works!
Very nice level of detail...look how clean the pedal assembly is and note the aluminum rings on the heater
openings in the carpet.
Locking shifter is a nice security item.
Fuel tap extension for the reserve lever.
Sorry for the sideways shot here...but the car was featured in Hot VWs magazine in 1994.
The car has not changed since the feature...it still looks fantastic.
So smooth and straight....this is a major selling point in my book!
In closing I think this is a very nice car.
It is super solid, super straight, well restored and cared for and is still a
strong contender at any show it goes to as well as being a fun weekend driver.
And best of all it is priced at bargain level!
