1973 VW Sports Bug For Sale
SOLD!

This Oklahoma based 1973 Sports Bug has had one owner since new!
The car was fully restored in 1990 and it has been used sparingly over the past 19 years.
The owners have decided that it is time to see it off to a new loving home.

The Sports Bug package was a pretty cool one when it comes to the Special Edition Beetles.
Lots of custom parts and details that really make them stand out from the sea of other Beetles in the world.

The owners even have the original sales brochure that will come with the car.

The car shows very well and has been garage kept and cared for.
Earlier this year the car came out of the garage for preparation for sale.
New tires all the way around, new battery and the complete brake system gone through.
It is a turn key, ready to drive car.

The wide steel wheels are a Sports Bug exclusive and they look to be in great shape
as does the rest of the car.

Originally the stripes were decals and the car had black body trim.
During the restoration the trim was removed and holes filled and the
signature Sports Bug stripes were professionally painted on the body.

The black bumpers and headlight rings were also Sports Bug signature details.

Modern sport side mirrors have been added and look great on the car.
Nice level of detail with the repaint...its a clean machine.

The car retains the Sports Bug steering wheel which has had the spokes painted body color and the
special Sports seats have been beautifully redone in a vinyl/velour combination.

The dash looks fantastic as does the whole interior.

Chrome trims on the pedals is a nice period touch and you can just see the
Gene Berg shifter peeking out in this photo as well.

Beautiful

Rear seat done to match and it too is in excellent shape

The car has dealer installed air conditioning!!
Also an additional power supply port has been added to charge your goodies.

Headliner looks well done and clean.

Gene Berg shifter.

A/C unit under the hood.
Nice carpet kit fitted up front.

Washer bottle is present

Matching spare wheel and tire in a clean solid trunk well.

Painted nicely and clean under the lids.

The 1600cc engine was replaced in 1990 with a pro built unit from Gene Berg.
Runs excellent, minimal mileage over the years.
A/C compressor is disconnected.

Receipts for the engine and such are available.

Super solid and clean underneath

Very nice!

Clean in the fender wells also!

One small crack developing where the factory mirror mount was covered over.
That's pretty much the worst body flaw...and obviously that is minimal.

Detail of the painted stripe...nice crisp and clean masking and detail.

Great car!
I love that it has a fully known history with one owner since new
and that it has had what appears to be a very nice quality restoration.
A nice sign of quality is when a restoration this old still looks this good!
Well cared for and super cool. I dig it!
