1965 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale

This is a very sweet and very solid 1965 Beetle with a very clean
exterior, a good running all stock engine and drivetrain.
One family owned since new!
Bought new 1965 by the current owners father through the tourist delivery program
and brought to Southern California through Ralph Cutright VW in Santa Monica.
The car has 96,838 original miles since new.

After a long life in sunny California the car was brought to its current home
in Minnesota and treated to a very nice quality repaint
all fresh bumpers, trim, rubber and more about 12 years ago.
It has been extremely well kept since, never driven in salt or snow and remains rock solid underneath.

The exterior has been repainted in the original Pearl White color, new window rubbers, chrome and trimmings installed.
It looks fantastic.

Looks very sweet  and all stock and proper.
The car has never been wrecked or rusted, a proper honest car underneath it all.

The interior remains all original and un-restored.
Excellent original paint on the dash, original radio in place, locking steering column/starter
which is a detail seen on quite a few of the European delivery models.
The original radio still works by the way!
The only thing not working at the moment is the horn.

The interior is original but it is sun cooked from its California days.
It will need fresh seat upholstery and carpet at least, and throw in a headliner if you really want it to
be spot on.  What is cool though is that since it is the original stuff, it gives you a perfect pattern to try to replicate
to do the interior correctly for the year and model.

So...basically it is a really nice clean ride that needs the soft goods on the inside.
Fortunately there are a variety of suppliers that carry all this stuff.
You can pick your colors and materials and do it as you like, or try to follow the stock pattern and materials.

Sun baked under the rear window.

Original door panels are actually holding up pretty decent which is nice.
Very solid under the rear seat.

Still 6 volt electrics.

New fender beading, body trim and Cal Look rubber around the windows without the aluminum trim.
The owner has retained the original trim as well as some of the other parts swapped out during the restoration
and all of that comes with the car as well as a tow bar and the original owners manual!

New headlights and bumpers.
Mega straight and clean in the spare tire well.
Note the Santa Monica California plate frames from the original servicing dealer.

Wow!

Cant ask for much better than that...original paint finish under the hood and it is CLEAN!

Seats and padding are TOAST!

Even the drivers side door panel looks pretty clean.

Back outside she is dreamy

Very stock original 1200cc engine runs great.

Looks like all the right bits are in place on the engine.
It is quite possibly the original numbers matching unit, but we have not yet confirmed this.
The owner states that it was rebuilt at the time of the restoration.

Love that clean dash and un-restored everything in here.

Fun vintage mileage counter tag on the dash...looks like remnants of the original carpet is still in place.
Dash is super clean!

New running boards

Original body panels all the way around it appears.

Nice door gaps

Original wiring cover and trunk liner still intact.

Wheels have been painted solid black and have nice tires installed.
I'd personally love to see them painted back to the original two tone...would look fantastic.

Good looking car.
Pure basic Beetle

Looks wonderfully solid underneath as well.

The cars long California history in the warm dry climate has done it well.
Fortunately it has also been well cared for and kept out of the elements in Minnesota where it resides today.

In closing this is a really good car.
Do the interior and it will be a great car.
Fantastic history, no wrecks, no rust, pretty dreamy find.
