1973 Super Beetle Sedan For Sale

Here is another long distance listing for us, the car is located in New Jersey and is in the hands
of a prominant VW collector out there. He knows his stuff and I certainly trust his judgement
and based upon the photos ths is one amazing little orange Beetle.

This car is all original from the tires on up, with just 18,900 original miles since new.
Original window sticker, owners manuals, warranty card, etc are all still with the car today.
If you are looking for the best 73 Super Beetle in the world...this very well may be it.

73 was a fairly important year in the Beetle's history as many new things were introduced.
The large round taillghts, the curved front windshield, larger dash, etc, were all new for 73.
So from a historical viewpoint this is an attractive car to add to your collection.

The paint is all original and is glossy and beautiful. The car has always been garaged since new
and it still has a showroom fresh appearance to it.

Look at the shine on that paint and trim!

A stunning survivor vehicle, very well preserved indeed.

This shot almosts looks like something out of a brochure or some photo-realism painting...

Anyway, original bits everywhere, the glass with the proper logos, the window rubber still supple
and soft.

Extra clean and well detailed.

The wheels are still wrapped in the original Continental Bias Ply tires fitted to the car at the factory!
Still the square factory wheels weights and all... absolutely wild.

Wow.

Lenses and everything are of course the original equipment and in impressive condition.

Color matched fendered beading is correct for the year.

Nice wherever you look.

Chrome is excellent, bumper guards are super clean, brackets as well.
(toes not included)

Very clean.

Body is super straight and proper.

The interior is amazing as well.

All factory equipment is in place and functional.

German rubber mats are in place to protect the carpets.

Original carpet in phenomenal condition.

Odometer reads 18,948 miles at the time of these photos and this is indeed the actual mileage on the car.

Sapphire radio, all the proper switches and knobs.

Very very clean.
Even the little light between the fan knobs works.

The wood gear shift knob is a factory accessory sold new with the car.

Interior appears as new.
Barely a butt print on the driver's seat.

Headliner is super clean as well.

Very impressive find.

All the original everything...

Here you can see the very minor softening of the seat pad on the driver's side...thats about it.

Wood hand brake cover was also installed when new.

Door jams and thresholds are extra clean.

Little to no signs of wear.

Rear mats as well.

Look at how bright the plating is on the door latch here...simply amazing!

original manufacture date sticker.

The numbers matching stock 1600 cc engine runs like a dream.
The car has been recently serviced from end to end. the fule lines replaced, the carburator rebuilt,
the brakes done and all serviced so it truly is a turn key driver.
The current ower recently took it on a 225 mile drive to a VW event in his area and the car
performed flawlessly.

Impressive level of cleanliness and the originality factor is through the roof.
This is the car that all Super Beetle restorations will be based on...the colored hoses, proper clamps
screws and clips and assorted details...it's like going back in time to 73 and walking in the showroom.

Nothing screams Volkswagen louder than a bright orange Super Beetle... but still they put the emblem on there
just so there is no mistake.

Under the front hood is nearly flawless.

Matching spare appears to have never been on the car.

heavy factory undercoating was sprayed when new as the car was originally delivered to Tennessee.
No rust issues with this car. Everything is impressively solid.

Original tool roll and jack are with the car as well as the small maintenance goodies such as the ignition parts and fan belt.
A couple of shop manuals as well.

Original owners manual and folder in excellent shape.

Original customer ID card, Jack Jones from Johnson City Tennessee.
The original owner passed away earlier this year and his widow had the car serviced in April
to make the car ready for the road (it had been in storage for quite some time).
It was then sold to her insurance agent who in turn sold it to the current owner.
The whole ownership trail is known and documented.

Original dealer plate frames.

Original wheel trim rings.

The original window sticker in simply amazing condition.

Radio info and assorted warranty paperwork.

Here's the receipt from earlier this year showing the service done to get the car back on the road.

So...in closing this is an impressive car. Certainly suitable for museum display or showing at the best of the VW events.
Very rare to find a car so original and well preserved. The only noted flaw the owner mentioned is one small ding in the back
above the taillight and Im sure there must be a rock chip or two somewhere.
Its an amazing find indeed.
