1975 VW Westfalia Camper For Sale

This is a truly amazing find.
This un-restored original 75 Westfalia Camper has 40k original miles since new
and is an impressive state of preservation.

This bus was ordered in 1975 through the Tourist Delivery Program.
It was delivered to the original owner on July 4th, 1975 in Germany and was used for a year for touring Europe
and was then shipped to Canada. As such, it has several special Euro options that were added
as well the Canadian upgrades. The original (Blaupunkt?) radio, using a left mounted VW antenna,
is a European M/U model (instead of AM/FM), the headlights are European-only Bosch H4.
The Canadian options include the powerful Eberspacher BA6 auxiliary heater,
a 70A alternator, and fresh air fans. Westfalia outfitted the rare
(possibly not offered for US models?) "Campmobile 70-5 Helinski" package,
which included three seat belts for the rear bench, a side mounted seat,
the electric/shore power sink, outlet, and combination gas/electric large capacity refrigerator.
Everything you see is original, unmodified, and in like-new condition.

From Canada, the original owner drove the Westy to Georgia USA, where it was used sparingly as a vacation car for the family of four.
Most of its 39,000 miles were clocked during its first ten years, and it was maintained by the local VW dealer.
The owner died in 1985 and the bus was put into dry storage in their garage, where it sat for 32 years, till November 2017.
At that time, the original owner's wife had become elderly and the son asked his employee, a Mercedes mechanic, to get it running and sell it.
It was posted on Craigslist and immediately scoped up by the current owner, a very wise VW enthusiast that knew
a once in a lifetime opportunity when he saw it.

The current owner sent in to Wolfsburg for the full birth certificate documentation
that will accompany the camper to its new owner.

M Code (options) list is extensive with this one!

Original owners manual packet with all the right bits in it.

Rear hatch bug screen looks factory fresh

Power cord

Under the seat is the original child's cot, still in the factory packaging.

Original tags are all present

Impressively solid with all the original undercoating intact.

The current owner bought the bus with 39,900 original miles on the odometer,
It was very dusty and leaked fuel and oil as all the engine seals had dry rotted.
He pulled the engine for the first time and replaced all the gaskets, seals, and fuel hoses and any expired vacuum hoses.
One fuel injector was cracked and replaced with a new one. He used only German/OEM parts.
The fuel tank, left empty, had some rusty thin spots so he replaced it with a brand new one.
The front brakes were dragging so he replaced the flexible lines.
While he has not thoroughly gone through and inspected every single system, he states that the bus drives like it's new.
The steering has no slop, the brakes are very strong and firm, and the fuel injected 1800cc engine, still fresh, is peppier than his 78 Westy's aging 2000cc
The original muffler has been recently replaced with an aftermarket unit.

When the current owner took delivery, the seat padding in the front seats
had completely deteriorated from age. That material just breaks down
by itself over time and even with such minimal miles, it was just "gone".
Correct horsehair padding was sourced through Wolfsburg West and carefully
installed and covered with the original seat upholstery.

The owner states that the front face of the Bus has been repainted
but the workmanship is excellent and it was not done to repair any accident damage.
The first owner fitted a full size spare tire on the nose at one point
and the repaint was to put that back to original with the proper emblem in place.
The owner states that it does appear that on the left rear corner that there are signs
of a previous paint repair down low on the corner.

It is just SO clean!

Original windshield glass still in place as is the VW logo antenna

In closing this truly is an exceptional find.
Very clean and original and loaded with all the right original stuff.
If you wanted to restore a similar camper you could easily spend double the asking price

You just cant beat the real thing.
