1960 VW Single Cab Transporter For Sale

This North Carolina based Dove Blue Single Cab is a real beauty.
Restored in Califoirnia by Lenny at West Coast Classics in around 2009
the owner being a member of the DBK car club and a massive VW enthusiast.

Its got roughly 4000 miles on it since completion of the restoration
and has always been garaged and well taken care of.

Very nice smooth body and paint work on this truck
with an excellent attention to detail and excellent panel fit.

DBK car club decal on the windshield.
This club and its members are well known for their quality rides.

Truck is very solid underneath!

As you can see in this photo, there are some very small paint blisters forming along the passenger side
rocker panel down low. Very minor and you've got to look for them...but they are there
and are perhaps the biggest "flaw" noted in the paintwork, the rest being very very nice.

The restoration was very extensive with every nut and bolt touched and every surface restored.
Door jams are super clean, all new window rubbers and body seals

Clean details throughout and nice subtle upgrades such as locking lids and doors with matching keys, etc.

Its even got a clean gas hole!

Factory style hard board door cards with correct screws and washers.
New window felts and such as well.

Safari rear window and a beautifully restored and finished bed with the proper profile wood strips
beautifully varnished.  This is not the sort of truck that has been used and abused...it's been the owner's show truck for sure.

More cool details such as a quality fire extinguisher and a super slick
Glasurit paint code tag in the door jam.
Paint is a single stage finish in the correct and original L31 Dove Blue

Bottoms of the doors are solid and clean

Gates are excellent as are the latches and the proper rubber bump stops

Door seals have been replaced, paint finish is nice inside and out.

Super clean

Nicely finished floors, very solid

Excellent

New rubber floor mat.
Pedals have been restored and the gas pedal mechanism has been
upgraded with a high quality linkage set up from the UK that
operates so much smoother than the factory set up.

Gene Berg shifter is another high end upgrade.

Nice to see a clean solid finish even in the spots you would never look.

Another small paint flaw forming on the passenger side wheel arch.

Upholstery is excellent

Euro headlight lenses and bullet turn signals.

Fuel gauge added from a newer Bus and fitted in the factory position for 62-up models

Speedometer is the correct unit for 1960
Dash is super clean, steering wheel is beautifully restored

Nice detail of the nose emblem with the dividing line between the V and W being painted body color.

AM/FM radio in the dash (no modification to the radio hole)
Drink caddy accessory just hooks in through the dash vents, so no holes or drilling.

Bumpers are beautifully restored.
Nice accessory back up light

Correct taillights.

Bumpers have the splash guards and all proper hardware.
This is all the proper parts for the truck models too...the Bus versions have a softer curve to them
and the fit is not as nice when used on a truck.

Drivers side rocker is super smooth, it seems that only the passenger side has the small blisters

Safari rear window is a cool add on as well...sure helps with ventilation.

Deep oil sump and auxiliary oil cooler with electric fan installed.

High quality ceramic coated performance exhaust

With heater boxes too!
