1968 VW Type 3 Karmann Ghia For Sale

This Nevada based Type 34 Ghia is a really pretty car.
It is currently with its third owner since new.

It was sold new in Denmark and brought to the US in 1969.
It was always garaged and well kept and when the second owner got it, he
did a very nice restoration to the car with some personal touches and upgrades.
The third owner got the car as you see it but has done some mechanical work
to get it all up to par and running as it should. New transmission mounts, rear engine seal,
hooked up the heater boxes and detailed the engine. New tires have about 200 miles on them,
it is a turn-key, ready to enjoy car.

The two tone paint scheme is unique and certainly suits the car well.
The purists out there will scoff perhaps but I think its nicely done.

Glass and rubber all look great.

Very well detailed everywhere you look...this car is CLEAN!

External oil cooler mounted in the rear vent area with a custom guard over the top (color matched)

The engine is warmed up a bit with some performance bits and when first built actually had a turbocharger installed
(the turbo boost gauge on the dash is the only remaining clue) but the current owner installed the 34ict Weber carbs
and a nice ceramic coated exhaust system last year and it now runs sweet and reliably.

Pop out quarter windows function properly and rubber seals look nice.

Chrome looks great

A small crack in this taillight lens, but nothing offensive.

Side marker light lens has faded a little but the body and paint looks awesome.

Really a good looking ride!

Excellent nose and trim.
Front bumper guards are not original but look nice.

Clean

Chrome Mangel 4 lug wheels and VW hubcaps
Tires have about 200 miles on them at most.

Rear luggage rack is a fun little accessory.

Very cleanly done!

Interior has been customized just a bit with a smooth upholstered dash and non original seats.

Turbo boost gauge from its past performance engine upgrades is of course non functional.
No radio and the clock is not functional.
German square weave carpets are in nice shape.

The upholstered and padded dash is nicely done
but not original.

Door panels look very clean

Seats appear to be from an early BMW to me looking at the headrests and the 49rs logos on the seats
are a nod at the previous owners favorite team.

Rear seat upholstered to match...really nicely done interior work and obviously very well kept.

Reclining seats

Nice!

Front trunk is beautifully trimmed as well

Front nose looks pretty nice from the inside.

Very clean!

Chassis is very solid and clean, suspension parts were painted and look nice.

Really impressive underneath.

Rear space behind the back seat is also super clean.

And it has won awards at local events...she is a beauty!

In closing this is truly a beautiful example of a rare Type 3 Karmann Ghia.
While the restoration was done with some personal touches and choices
it was obviously done very well and has been very well kept.
These cars are pretty tough to find these days and the values have been climbing for top level examples
I think this one is a heck of a buy for the asking price considering what has been put into it.
I think this car will sell fast!
