1963 VW Caravelle Camper For Sale
OK...this one is a mind blower.
Honestly I don't think we have ever had a cleaner Caravelle Camper EVER
here on Oldbug.com, This one is truly top level.
The Bus is located in England but it was imported there in 2014 from California
The restoration was completed recently and it is at an absolute concours level
by a very skilled craftsman that has a long list of awards and accolades for his work over the years.
Truly restored to far better than showroom condition.
They were never this clean underneath from the factory.

The Caravelle Campers were built in Martinez California for a variety of VW dealers and private owners.
I'm not sure if this one was sold new as a Camper or if it was converted for a private owner
but it has all the great features and details that it should have.
While some campers were converted from panel vans, this one started life as a Kombi model
The Kombi was the base model passenger bus, designed for utility use with easily removable seats.
Three side windows down each side and the small rear window in the hatch.
Interior details are superb. The Kombi models came with black steering wheel and dash knobs.
The Wolfsburg crest horn push is a Deluxe model item but it looks great.
Factory radio block off plate in the dash.
Simple grey door panels as original.
Out back the Caravelle camper interior has been impeccably restored .
Fold up side table, proper flooring, excellent grain and finish on the wood.
Side windows have been polished to a jewel like shine.
Soooo clean
Spotless wherever you look at it.
Even underneath
All proper tags are present
Excellent curtain material choice
Whitewall radials on painted wheels with grey center caps
Closet mirror, drink cups in the original holder...all superb
Even the inside of the closet it perfect.

This was a true labor of love here with this restoration, done to the highest level
for a very good friend of the restorer that unfortunately has passed and never got a chance to show or enjoy the bus.
Its up for sale and the price is strong, however as you can see in this array of images it is far beyond the level
of the majority of campers on the market today. I just don't think you will ever find its equal
and if you paid to have one restored to this level you would spend far more than the asking price to have it done.
Keep in mind that the camper is located in England, but the seller is knowledgeable on import and export
and is happy to help connect a buyer to the right folks to get the job done of shipping it to anywhere in the world.
