WW 2 VW Kubelwagen Replica For Sale

This Connecticut based Kubel Replica is from an estate of an enthusiast that had two of these cars!
(The other is listed as well)

Sadly not a whole lot of information on history came with either car, but we do
know that these were replicas built here in the US on later model VW chassis.

The quality of the builds seem quite high and the details and special touches give them a
very convincing look and appearance.

The big benefits of a well done replica versus an original are of course price,
but also in the drive. The originals with their 25 horse engines, cable brakes and non synchromesh
transmissions are simply not a joy to drive on the fast roadways of today
and tend to be trailered to events. These babies you can actually drive.

This example has a clear CT title as well as some great period inspired markings.

While these cars have not been driven recently, this one was last on the road
in the past couple years, so I am confident that it will take minimal effort
to make it go again (like fresh fuel and a battery)

Nice fun details such as the fake semaphore boxes and the rifle racks in the back.

The modern steering wheel and seat belts are the only clues here that this is not a period ride.

Very nice patina going on to give it an even more realistic look.

I just love it!

The top is down in this pic, I dont have any images of it up.

Out back in this car looks to be a single port 1600cc engine with 12 volt electrics.
As mentioned above, this car was running and driving within the past year or so
and has remained still since the owner's passing.
Should take very little effort to get it back on the road, but expect a little tinkering and at least a fresh battery, etc.

The modern steering wheel is a bit of a buzz kill visually
but this is the car the owner liked to take out and drive often.
There are stories of him driving through town with a skeleton in the passenger seat
wearing an officer's hat...he had a ton of fun shaking up the folks on the street.

There are some extra shovels and jerry cans that will be split up between the two cars

It looks like there is a set of side curtains for both cars as well

The chassis looks solid

A little surface rust on the exhaust and possibly a little fluid leak going on here?

In closing...this is really a super cool replica.
Well built and detailed and ready for cruising.
Film use, war time reenactment , just patrolling the neighborhood.
The fun is at your fingertips at the turn of the key.
