This one is a ton of fun!
Talk about an eye catcher!
This super clean Baja Bug was built just a few years ago
and has been driven sparingly and has been a promotional vehicle for a VW
dealer in Connecticut
for the past two years where it has attracted a lot of attention.
Built originally in Michigan by a fanatical enthusiast with a very high level
of detail,
this was built as a show car, not something to bash around in the hills
(although it is certainly capable of that!)
It rides nice and high with the big tires and the suspension lift.
Its a great looking ride and it runs and drives excellent.
Underneath is very solid and rust free and a slick amulinum diamond plate
skid plate
fits under the engine and trans.
You can see the back corners of the floor pans in this photo...super solid
car.
A full rollcage is installed and is wrapped in red padding. Headliner is
excellent.
Dash is excellent, instruments clean and clear, nice steering wheel and a
great audio system
VW logo floor mats and nice plush carpet.
Good tread on the tires.
Knobby time!
These tires have not seen the dirt they were designed for...this car has
been pampered and garaged and kept
out of the elements.
The paint job is really impressive...the layout and design is very well done
and the finish quality is nice!
So much fun!
Check out the reflection down the sides...this ride is smooooth!
Interior is well done and the racing seats up front are in great shape and
are quite comfortable.
The Crow harnesses keep you snug in place should you decide to take the road
less travelled!
Door panels are clean...power windows have been installed as well!
Coil over shocks and a heavy sway bar up front.
Disc brakes up front as well!
Disc brakes in back too!!
Clean
The engine is clean and well detailed.
The engine is a 1776 cc (the only choice!) and it features
an Engle 110 cam, Heads by AJ Sims, ported and polished and matched to the
manifolds.
Dual Kadron carburetors, 009 distributor, 12 volt with alternator, custom
ceramic coated Bugpack exhaust and more,
Nice!
And the trans this is mated to is a pro built box from Rancho with close
ratio low first and second for
climbing those hills and also compensating for the much taller than stock
wheels.
Nice audio system in the car with an Audiobahn sub woofer
MTX amplifier
No back seat.
Crow harnesses are very nice.
Get in, sit down, belt up...and HOLD ON!
The continuation of the graphics inside to the dash is a great touch.
The big knob to the left by the way, is for the heating system that is installed.
This is one Beetle that will keep your body warm on even the coldest of days!
Pioneer head unit.
Speedo and fuel gauge
Very nice inside!
Check out those US flag fuzzy dice too!
Power windows is another nice modern touch.
Clean
Under the front hood is nicely carpeted.
The big bottle is washer fluid...you can put a gallon bottle of the stuff
right here
and the modern pump will suck it right out and squirt it on the glass.
A big improvement over the stock system.
Here you can see the heater unit...this works wonders in such a small space.
Nice clean spot for the groceries!
It really shows well and is a big crowd pleaser!
Beautifully done
Its a solid turn-key driver too.
Hop in it and go anywhere.
Ready to show and go!
This is about as American as a German car can get!
From the Baja body mods to the wild paint work...you just want to stand up
and salute when you see it roll by!
Its been hanging out in a wonderful place too...check out those beauties
in the background!
The owner of the car is a VW dealer...a New VW dealer that is, the old cars
are the owner's passion
and he uses them to promote his business and the fun of VW ownership.
He doesnt normally sell a car from his collection, so this is a rare opportunuty
to buy one of the jewels in his crown.
Great car, well done, amazing eye catcher and being sold by a true fanatic.
