1969 Volkswagen Beetle For Sale
SOLD!

This very clean New Mexico based 69 Sedan has received a lot of time, effort and money recently to
make it into a very nice car. The owner has invested around $12,000 in it and has gotten it to a point
where it is a very good looking and excellent driving example. He stopped short when it came to the interior
with something on a personal level diverting his attention for completion of the project.

The car rolled off the assembly line in October of 1968.
It was originally equipped with the "auto stick" transmission.
This transmission has been professionally swapped out for a fully rebuilt
manual 4 speed unit and it operates excellent.

The paint was redone just recently in the original color and sprayed with high end DuPont materials.
The body on this car was completely rust free and in very good shape prior to paint.
All new window rubber and body seals installed, new bumpers, etc, from the outside this car looks
as nice as showroom new.

The wheels are new Mangel chrome units, slightly wider than stock so a little fatter rubber can be run for improved handling.

The engine is a very strong running bone stock single port 1600cc that was professionally rebuilt.
The carburator is brand new, the air filter from a newer model installed to help with dusty conditions.
Nice to see that all seals and hoses and details are in place on the car.
The owner states that it is a very delightful driver with no mechanical issues.

Under the front hood remains all original.

Now here is where the project stopped...with the interior.
The seats are done and look quite nice...door panels too, but what remains to be done is the carpet, headliner and dash.
Quality kits for all these things are readily availble and the fitting of the carpet and dash pad are not a difficult thing.
The headliner is something best left to the professionals, but once those details are attended too, this car will be fantastic inside and out.

You can see in through the windows here that the headliner is not in place.

The paint is a base coat / clear coat urethane and the finsih quality is excellent!

New bumpers, running boards, fender beading, all body seals, etc.
The owner has been fanatical about the work done to the car.

Here is a mirror image shot of the underside of the car and the Eyeball Engineering frame stiffeners.
These are really slick bolt on supports that help stiffen and strengthen the chassi of the car.
Ive hear about them but not experienced them personally...but I have been told that the ride quality is
greatly improved and shakes and rattles are far lessened after these are in place.
Its a logical item when you think about it...Eyeball has come out with some neat products...look them up!

The door rubber, window scrapers and felts and all the trim is in excellent condition.
The car remains garaged and well treated.

There are a few photos of the car during the restoration here that are really cool.
This one shows a stamp on the frame with the production date of the car!
October 21st 1968...pretty cool!

Here is a shot that shows the Eyeball frame stiffeners in place.
These bolt in right at the edge of the pan through the normal body mount bolts.

Here are the units before installation.

Similar to the factory design "support rails" that Convertible models had.

Here is a shot of the body before the installation of the running boards.
You can see how clean the bodywork was done here quite well.

Really a sharp looker and the work that has gone into it has really made it a nice example...there are just a couple more parts of the puzzle
to be put back in place and then the inside will be as nice as the outside.

The photos here dont really do it justice from what I have been told.
The car shows very well in person and with the amount of time and money invested in it so far it seems like it
is a fantastic bargain for the money.
