OK...get it out...finish your laughing and lets look further into this crazy looking old Beetle.
Yes...it is painted in funny colors andit is really kinda wacky looking, but underneath the paint there hides
a pretty neat old 58 Beetle that is ready for some love and attention.

The photos are in an odd order, but the car is a little odd, so it seems to fit somehow...
Seat frames look good...sills are nice.

Seats and panels are actually half decent and comfortable enough for a driver.

No door seals so it is probably a little breezy...

Bumpers are a bit rusty..

Everything got painted...everything.

Except the panels and seats of course.

Nice origina radio in the dash...modern clock is a stick on.

Original glove box in decent shape.

Wacky checkered floor mats.

This car is located in Colorado by the way...
It is a runner and driver but the owner states that it should get a little attention before going into daily use.

The colors are fun in a strange way, but obviously not correct.

The floorpans look pretty good...some surface rust.

The heater channels however have rusted out.

Looks like the panel the running boards screw into is also a bit rusty.

The pans seem kinda decent though...

Good tires on fancy painted wheels.

The paint is rough...all does by brush, so for a restoration you will have to strip it all off.
The upside of it is that think paint like this is a good protector for the metal below.
I remember years ago a friend of my fathers had a 1930 Auburn that he had bought...a very rare car.
It had been painted with house paint long ago and we gave him grief for it...but when he stripped that all off the body
was perfect!

Original glass

Looks like there was a hole under here for something that was patched up.

Still 6 volt electrics.

Passenger side seat has a rare recliner,

Vent latch broken on passenger side,

Headliner is gone and roof is painted.

Original steering wheel

A little paint drip on the seat...

Carpet is saggin.

Roll the dice...move your mice...nobody gets hurt!

The paint is peeling in spots and the original finish is poking through.
I wonder what it would look like if you carefully stripped away that top coat and got it back to the original grey?

Wiring seems intact.

Cool decal on the fuel tank.

The body seems pretty decent on the car with the worst spot being the rust in the heater channels.
But the rest seems like it would be very easy to deal with.

Nice original paint under the engine lid.

40 horse engine is said to run fine.
Mileage on the engine is undocumented.

Love those brush strokes!

In closing this is an interesting project car or a great canvas to paint it even sillier and have a ton of fun.
With a little tinkering it would make a great driver, or rip it all apart and get into a proper restoration.
The car deserves it and I feel it is well worth the effort to restore it to stock if that is your thing, or go custom with it.
Despite the odd colors it remains really pretty stock and unmodified.
And even just as it is...it sure makes me smile.
