1972 VW Auto Stick Super Beetle For Sale

This cute little white Beetle is an incredible find.
I know I know...its a Super Beetle and white is just white...but follow along on this one
it is truly a very special car.

This is a one family car since new, always in Southern California and always garaged.
It was actually won by the original owner through a radio station giveaway.
The lady that won could go take her pick off the lot and she chose this cute white Super Beetle
with the Auto Stick transmission and the blue vinyl interior.
It was a second car for her, she really did not need it, but she was thrilled with the fortune of winning it
and always kept it in tip top shape.

When she passed away several years ago it was inherited by a family member that
continued the care of the car, garaging it and driving it sparingly.
At the time of these photos the odometer has clicked up to just shy of 16,000 miles since new.

Yes... 16,000 original miles since new.

The car is truly in spectacular original condition, it really looks and feels like a new car.
It is seriously the cleanest original 72 Beetle I have ever laid eyes on...the more you look, the more it impresses.

The car runs fantastic as well...the owners drove the car out to meet me for the photos and when it pulled up it was
singing the most beautiful tune through the tweeter pipes...it even sounded amazing.

One of the very special parts about the car is that it has the "Auto stick" transmission"
which is basically a clutchless 3 speed. It works fantastic and once you get the hang of them
they are really a kick to drive. The other fun part is the sound of the shifts , it is unique to the auto stick.
As the owener was joying it into place for the photos I enjoyed the sounds it made.

The car is really in amazing condition all the way around.
Everything you see is original to the car.

The taillights and reflectrs are the original Hella units and they look perfect with no hint of fade

The chrome on the bumpers is excellent, the rubber trim on the guards has cracked a little from age, but still is very clean and intact.

The original engine runs like a sewing machine and is quite clean.
The silver hoses are obviously not original...I would swap for the black paper if it was mine..
and the coil is a new replacement.

Original emission sticker on the fan shroud and inspection stamp as well

This is the matching number original engine

1972 was the first year for the additional vents on the engine lid
What I am uncertain of is the rectangular indent in the lid...when did that first come in to play?

The reason I question the engine lid is a sign of slight overspray on the rubber seal here on the lid.
It looks to me that the engine lid has been resprayed, or possibly replaced. I have looked
in detail at everything else on the car and it all looks to be original paint
except for the rear lid.

The fender beading is color matched, as it should be for the year.
People will argue that it should be black...but this is not so.

Running boards are original as are the little caps on the door hinges.

Under the front hood is superbly clean and untouched.

Paint code and inspection sticker still in place

Tool roll looks to have nnever been unwrapped.

The original VW dealership frame is here as well

The original spare has never touched the ground

The German tire weight

Under dash is super clean

Headliner is all original and still white as can be

Wow!

The little mats in the back as well

Blue viny seats and panels...a great combo with the white exterior.

Look how sweet it is even under the rear window.

On the quarter window is still the original California emissions decal...these are notorious for cooking fast in the California sun.
This one still looks like new

Octomer of 71 production date

Looks how clean the door latches are!

Dash is perfect.

2000 mile service sticker in the jam from 1974

Another one from the past...details not clear.

Underside of the engine has a wee bit of grime , but not bad.

Floorpans and the rest of the chassis are superb

As solid as they come, that factory undercoating holding tight and looking fantastic.

Found one little paint scratch along the edge of one fender...carefully touched up

More chassis detail

Factory undercoat in the fender wells is still black

So dreamily solid...you cant beat this.

Back outside it is still showroom fresh in appearance

Really sharp car

Hard to find even a stone chip in the finish.

The interior is excellent

Original seat upholstery and padding with barely a butt dent in the drivers seat.

Impressive

Love those original mats

Door cards are like new...pockets still tight, rubber seals in fine shape

Original seat betls with bright clean tags

Wow

These reflectors on the sides of the lights are in such great shape...these really seemed to fade easily
back in the day...but these are still bright and colorful.

Drivers door hinge detail

Turn signals and seals are excellent

A tiny bit of age to the window seal evident on the corners, but this is all the original stuff,
glass all has the factory logos, everything is just as it was when it left the factory.

This is a wonderful survivor car with a fantastic history.
Hard to find a better example anywhere I would think.
This is a true time capsule.
