1979 Super Beetle Convertible

Deep in the heart of Huntington Beach there is a man who some know as the "Bug Doctor".
For many years he has been restoring these late model Convertibles and getting them back out on the
roads of So Cal (and other places as well). He has the routine down to a science it seems
and the cars all roll out looking like this one...clean and pretty and ready for fun.

This one in silver is a prime example of his work.
Fresh paint, new interior, all new top, new rubber, new body trim, everything to make it look like something
that would be right at home at the fanciest beach villa or the VW shows.
Its not done to "Concours" level perhaps, but it is very clean and fresh.

On this car the original bumpers were in good shape and were re-used.
The top is brand new black stayfast canvas, the type of material used on Mercedes.

The dash is very clean and proper, correct steering wheel.
All new carpet, door panels, seat upholstery and more.

Door panels are new and look great

Padded steering wheel was a nice from the hard plastic models on earlier cars.

Burlwood dash trim and factory clock

Odometer reads 97,100 miles.

Nice Blaupunkt CD stereo

Seats are all freshly done.

Rear seat as well

Original production sticker still in the door jam

The center console is a nice upgrade as well.

Door seals and all the window scraper and such are new.

Top down and ready for action.

1600cc dual port engine runs great and the car is a delightful driver.
This one has been converted to a carburator from the original fuel injection system.
A great way to go, much more reliable and easy to service, but it may cause problems
in states with strict emissions testing as it has been modified from stock equipment.

Floor pans have been sealed up pretty well.
Support rails look very solid.

Battery area has had some patching and is now well sealed.

Smoked taillight lenses look great against the silver paintwork.

Front trunk is all clean and fresh with a new carpet kit.

Strut towers are clean and solid.

This is a spot where rust can kill one of these cars...this one look great.

Spare tire well is solid as well.

Front apron

Under the hood is even painted well.

Top boot is included.

Nice looking car!

Front apron grille area is clean and straight.

"Riviera" wheels are a nice upgrade from the standard steel wheels and give the car a sportier look.
Tires are brand new all the way around.

Windshield glass has the tinted strip along the top.
New windshield rubber.

Out in the sun it looks even better.

A nice clean 79 Convertible that has just received a fresh cosmetic restoration with a long long list of new parts.
Built by a guy that has been doing this for many years, and he turns out some clean machines.

Asking just
$10,950 obo
