1968 VW Beetle Sedan Auto Stick For Sale

In 1968 Volkswagen was trying to tailor a model that they could sell to those that were not into the manual trans thing.
Certainly at the time they were thinking of the ladies, in fact they even had an ad at the time where they called it the "Lady Bug".
For many years the autostick was frowned upon by many, but in the current world where younger generations
have not had the exposure to a clutch pedal and stick, I am seeing a growing demand for these cars.
Since so few were produced and many have been converted to the manual transmission, the supply of
these cars is far smaller than the demand, and as time marches forward, I bet that curve continues to change.
Finding a really good original Autostick Beetle is getting really hard!

This particular example is an absolute dream find. All original and un-restored,
extremely solid and straight, low mileage, runs and drives well
It is the first year 1968 model which makes it pretty special to boot.

The car is a dreamy one with all the original details in place, from the dealer plate frames to the original bumper guards
it is all here and very well preserved.

This is the original paint on the car and with a proper detailing I bet this diamond truly shines!

The car was sold new in Southern California and at one point later in its life, followed its original
owner to the state of Wyoming where the car sits today. Its not been getting the use that it deserves
and has been in storage, and it now needs its next home where someone will drive and enjoy the car.

Super straight and solid, matching original spare wheel has the washer bottle in place
original plate frames front and back.

Underneath it is extremely solid and rust free.
Transmission and engine operate smoothly and mechanically
I am told it is in very good shape.

Original jack and tool roll are present under the hood.

The seat upholstery is showing a little age.

Original dash, carpet, rubber mats...everything is untouched and original

The painted sections of the dash were trimmed with matching vinyl when new and that is starting to peel
but I think it could be re-glued if desired.  Very uncommon to see this stuff in place.
Never cut for a radio, in fact the factory antenna hole plug is still in place as well.

It looks to me that the seats were covered with new covers at one point, undoubtedly the
original upholstery is underneath.

Original headliner looks to be in great condition.

Original paint on the wheels, still running bias ply tires!

It is amazingly straight and clean!

Original documentation!
Owners manual, warranty info, service book and more!

Rock solid underneath!!

Just under 53k original miles since new!

The seat cover on the top of the back seat has slipped forward revealing the
original upholstery below that had curled up and split. Exciting to see the factory seat strap is still here with its buckle.
Those are often long gone!!

Out back the original 1500cc engine is all stock and factory!
Runs great!!

The Automastic Stickshift emblem on the deck...I love the font!

Such a pure and original car this is!

The photo array here is not massive on this car but I think it is quite obvious that the car is a
very good, honest original that is not hiding any nastiness below.
Original un-restored cars like this are a joy to own and drive.
Detailing and polishing that original finish will make this beauty really glow
and perhaps re-doing the original seats with the correct factory upholstery would finish it off nicely.

A great find.
