1957 VW Beetle Oval Window Ragtop For Sale
This is a truly amazing and impressive build.
Engineering and perfection far and above the normal "Cal Looker"
This car impressed the whole world when it hit the scene a few years
back
and I have not seen it's equal come out since.
This is the "Mendeoval"
The level of detail and one off custom bits on this car make it a major
stand out.
But underneath it all is even more impressive, with a truly state of
the art suspension
set up that rivals modern sports cars in performance!
Phenomenal looks, big power and it can actually carve the canyons with
the big boys...
a combination that old VWs are simply not known to manage.
The car was featured in every possible VW magazine when it came out in
2010.
From Hot VWs here in the US, to similar publications the world over.
It sent a shockwave across the whole scene
This article from the British magazine Ultra VW shows it very well in
detail.
The use of this style suspension in a Beetle is an innovative move that
brought a lot of attention
to the owner, as well as Mendeola, the manufacturer of the parts.
This was a set up that was designed for use in the Bruce Meyers
Manxster, the latest
and greatest incarnation of the Meyers Manx Buggy.
The goal being to make a buggy that handles like a serious sports car!
Their plan worked wonders, and the Mendeola equipped Manxsters are
impressive!
Applying the same rules and good to an actual Beetle...was the next
obvious step.
The car was built with no holds barred, as a showcase for Mendeola and
everybody involved with the project.
Great minds and skilled hands got together to give it their all...and
the results are a creation that will never be
equalled. It is really something to see in person.
When you get underneath it, you can see the magic.
The A arm front suspension with adjustable coil overs...too cool!
Certainly NOT something you see under a Beetle!
The turbocharged performance powerplant and Mendeola transmission...wow!
And on the top side, the most amazing level of detail and trimming.
From the custom metal work under the hood to the brushed finish of the
chrome parts and
the list goes on and on!
Everywhere you look, there is a super stylish modification and detail.
Check out the amazing interior!
The dash, the steering wheel, the trim on the doors...all of it looks
like a finely machined timepiece
or something...it is stunning!
And all wrapped inside a humble Beetle
So clean, and so subtle at first glance...but as you look deeper you
see the incredible amount of detail.
Gorgeous car and absolutely top level work throughout.
The interior is superb
Level of detail underneath is spotless as well.
Custom bits wherever you look.
The brushed finish to the bumpers anc trim is especially cool...it
gives it a very "machine" look to it.
The detailing and finish continue out into the back as well...the more
you look, the more you see!
Awards at every event including multiple best of shows!

Pedals are all custom.
Instruments are all special fit

The chassis itself started out as a 1973 Type 1 pan.
But obviously the modifications are extreme!
Beautiful finish
The wheels are like jewelry
That brushed finish is a fantastic touch!
In closing this Beetle is a true one of a kind and an amazing piece of
craftsmanship.
