1964 Split Window Double Cab

Here's a beautiful Wisconsin based L87 Pearl White Double
Cab.

This bus received a 3 year full rotisserie restoration in 2004 in Washington state and has traveled less than
6,000 miles since then.

The bed features the original VW wooden bows and high
quality German style reproduction canvas.

Now that looks like it's ready to deliver in style!

Note the very attractive Orange/Red European taillights.

Wheels are 15x5 chrome Randars with W/195 - 65R 15 tires.

There's a quick peek at that Jake Raby Type 4 motor.

Very clean engine room.

Powering this beauty is a Jake Raby 2300CC Type 4 motor rated at
168 horsepower.
With a Oregon Performance upright fan shroud.

And dual Weber 44IDF's.

Vacuum pump for the power assisted disc brakes.

Raby engine number RAT #2002-032

Cabin is trimmed in a attractive beige cloth and maroon
leatherette.

Very nicely trimmed.

Cool door pulls.

Look at that beautiful German Blaupunkt Derby "pull-out"
Picnic Radio......and it works!

Ahh nothing like the original VDO/Kienzle clock in the dash and
a new grab handle.

What an impressive dashboard, with extra gauges to watch that Jake
Raby motor.

Gene Berg shifter.

Dash also features a real Rosenthal/Bavaria bud vase above that
Blaupunkt Derby radio.

Ambulance Fan.

What makes a vintage bus dash ever better?
A set of Izz's stainless steel Safari Windows.

Super clean bulkhead.

Wonderful metalwork throughout the bus.

A look at the carpet in the rear cab.

Fantastic looking custom door panels.

Very pleasing from all angles.

L87 Pearl White with L82 Silver White bumpers.

Clean gas filling station.

With the original key.

Just the tip of the exhaust shows behind the passenger side rear
tire.

I really like the look of those Randars.

Jackpoint and Eberspacher Gas Heater Exhaust.

The bus sports a very nice aftermarket wooden slat roof rack.

Safari Windows.

The gate hardware has been nickle plated.

Lovely details.

Clean all over.

Beautiful L82 Silver White paint on those bumpers.

Very clean gates.

Great attention to details have been done here even in the bed.

I've always liked the wooden trim in the trucks bed.

The Buses paint is a single stage urethane paint with an epoxy
primer, next to bulletproof.

Bus has a narrowed front beam by Franklin VW Werks in Kent,
Washington.

The entire underside of the Bus has been treated with clear POR
15.

Bus has power assisted disk brakes.

The Bus has some highly crafted German exhaust headers with a
Magna Flow muffler.

Fitting underneath very nicely.

Suspension and trans is IRS unit from a 1978 Super Beetle,
so the Bus handles as great as it looks!
Pro built of course to handle the horsepower of the big performance engine.

Another look at the underside of that Jake Raby Type 4 motor.

Very clean with no leaks.

The Bus has an amazing sound.

Ah and let's not forget the Bus has a new Electronic Eberspacher
Gas Heater.

Keeping you warm on those chilly early mornings.

Everywhere you look it's clean and shows a professional build.

Vega Steering Box.

How about that? Nice clean and solid, real metal here, this Bus is
exceptional.

This Double Cab is a fine example of a lite Resto-mod style
capturing all the Buses original features
but adding a tasteful
modern look with the Randar wheels, lowered stance, etc.
IRS rear suspension and
the fast and dependable Jack Raby Type 4 motor to get her
going down the road swiftly and with style.
The safari windows, roof rack and the canvas canopy compliment
the flawless bodywork.
A very comfortable interior with little added touches like the
Eberspacher Gas Heater and the Rosenthal vase
are the tasteful
little tidbits that finish off this wonderful Double Cab.
You would be hard pressed to be able to even build a Bus like this
at the asking price.
Act fast because this beautiful Double Cab will not last long.
