Porsche Speedster Intermeccanica Replica For Sale

This sweet Porsche Speedster kit belongs to a good friend up on Washinton state. He is a long time VW nut
and recently he aquired this Speedster in a trade...he is having a ton of fun with it but he suffers from vehicular A.D.D.
worse than most anyone I know and he is putting it up for sale in a quest for "the next toy" (whatever that might be!)
The car is a good runner and driver and is solid and clean.
The painted steel "smoothie" wheels give it a neat bare bones sort of look
and the red interior contrasts beautifully with the body color.

All the proper Porsche trimmings on it make a pretty convincing vehicle...amny folks wonder if it is the "real thing".
And with originals selling for as much as they are these days...a replica like this is becoming more and more attractive
to those of us without the "means" to fork out $100,000 on a toy!!

Nice to see the aluminum bumper guards and the right tiallights and reflectors below...the exhaust trim below
the bumper is a nice little touch that helps draw attention away from the normal Beetle "tweeter pipes".

There is not a happier automotive face out there than one of these cars!!
One big smile on wheels!

The suspension level is tucked down nice and low so the car handles sweetly in the corners.
Front axle beam is adjustable and features dropped spindles for a good ride.

Clear Washington title. Car is titled as a 1978 "Kitv" (Kit Vehicle).
as that is the year the car was first built by Intermeccanica.

Reutter body badge is a nice touch to add some authenticity looks wise.

The dash is beautiful and the red seats really look perfect against the creamy white exterior.
I love the use of the period look "banjo" steering wheel and the little flip top ashtray.

Clean in the corners and the rubber all appears to be in good shape.

Here's another dash shot...instrumentation is clear and cool...Porsche script on the dash and the grab handle just like the original.

Speedster bucket seats are well trimmed and in good condition.

Rear seat pad for the occasional quick trip around the block with the little ones.

Top up you are plenty cozy inside!

the top is in decent shape but shows some slight wear.

The side curtains are present and fully functional

Nice

Here are some bits of literature and history on the car...Intermeccanica is and has been one of the top names
ever in the build of replicars like this... they are known for being "the good ones" .

Decklid hinges have the Intermeccanica stampings...

Strong running 1600cc engine with dual "Kadron" carburators give the car plenty of pep.
Not overly detailed in here but thankfully not a greasy pig like some can get to be.
Its a good turn-key runner just as it is.

Gold plated emblems as like the originals...a couple small spots where the plating has chipped, but still very clean.

Under the front hood is pretty bare-bones, but all in proper shape.

Hood handle and emblems are all in place and match the original design.

Headlight grilles and glowing orange parking lights...cool looking at night!

All in all this looks to be a great bit of fun for not much money.
The millionaire look on a working man's budget.
Reliable VW mechanicals are cheap to upkeep and parts are available everywhere.
Run it and have some serious fun this summer!
