1971 VW Super Beetle For Sale

This clean green first generation Super Beetle is a very good car.
Never wrecked, never rusted, fires right up every time and has never left me stranded.
Yes "me"...this car is one of my own...one of "Mr Oldbug's" personal rides.
This car has been a second car for my wife and I...something to drive when one of the normal cars is in the shop
or we want to save on gas and leave the truck or minivan at home.  Its been a great car for us but if you look in the background
of this photo you will see its replacement...a TDI Jetta that will take us where we need to go and have A/C and all that.

Oh that doesnt mean that the family dog wont have an old VW to ride around in anymore...there is no shortage of thise around
here, but this particular one must go to make room for the new blood...sad but true.

The car is a pretty clean one. Not show car stuff by any means, but clean enough to be proud of
and boy it sure gets the compliments on the road.
Nice new bumpers front and back by the way...

The classic Empi 8 spoke wheels with gold centers just look right on the car and give it a nice sporty look.
When we forst got it, it had stock wheels and caps on it and it just didnt look as happy that way!

Rear three windows are tinted.  I do have a pair of pop out windows and a non-tinted rear glass that will go with the car
if desired. I always wanted to swap the rubber for the original style with the aluminum trim...but never got to it.

It is clean under the front hood.

Installed a new trunk liner about 6 months ago...really made the trunk look sharp.

Spare tire well is totally straight and solid...car has not been hit.

Door panels are in great shape.

New seat upholstery front and rear was done about 6 months ago as well.
The coco mats are a nice addition as well.

Love those coco mats.
Carpet is pretty new as well.

Headliner is done in black and is in great shape.

Very nicely fit.

Latches are clean of paint.

Original vin tag still in place on the dash...dash pad has been replaced and looks fantastic.

New bumpers, new taillight lenses..nice paint color.

Took a rock to the windshield on the passenger side up high a short time ago.
Have not replaced it yet, but can do, or will discount the price a hair to cover it.

Nice and straight and solid under the front end.

Transmission shofts smoothly through all gears and no popping out or anything like that.
It does have a slight "whirr" to it it seems but with no shifting or gear issues I have not seen the need to change it out.

The chassis and body on this car are super solid!
No rust anywhere and it looks like there have been no rust repairs either...really a nice dry California car.

Ive always liked these flat window Super Beetles.
My 2nd VW was a 71 Super just like this...(although not as nice)
I like this car and will be a bit sad to see it go!

The taillights have the reflectors in place on the sides...the rubber and body seals are in decent shape.

Body is very straight on the car and all panels fit well.
Runningboards are new as well.

Two notable paint chips on the front hood...Ive not attempted touching them up yet...

Nice lenses.

Very straight car...thatr is what impressed me most about it when we bought it...no wrecks, no damage
no rust...super straight and Ive always liked green!

Im keeping the "Pray" Volkswagen plate frame...that follows me from car to car...

Very solid below.

The stock 1600cc engine fires right off and just hums away like it should.
I should probably give it a detail under here...but it has been a "driver" in the true sense of the word.
Its not been to any shows or events with me...just bringing the kids to school and runs to the store.

Very solid in the door jams too.

Under the dash is cleanly painted.

That pesky stone chip from the inside.
Fortunately it is out of the line of sight while driving.

Odometer shows 62,000 miles.
I dont know the whole history of the car, so I have no clue how many are really on the car since new.

Original radio in the dash.

Original production sticker still in the door jam

Seats are in nice shape...padding on the drivers side is soft...but I like it that way

The horn is not currently working and the signals are intermittant...I can trouble shoot this before sale if you like.
I have a few dash plaques on the glove box that are magnet backed...those are staying with me as well...

A few light scratches here and there...she is not perfect...but still quite clean.

I have a wood slat roof rack that goes with the car (if you want it).

In closing this is a nice Old Bug...its a reliable runner and driver and it looks good too.
Open to reasonable offers and possible trades.
Its got to go to a good home...it has had one here with us and I would like to see it cared for!
