1956 VW Baja Bug For Sale

This sweet Baja is located in New York
and is a repeat visitor to the website.. these first 5 photos are current, the car has been kept in a garage and driven sparingly
during the current ownership. You can compare these first few shots to those of the car
in the past and you can tell that it has been very well kept.

Stll looks as clean as ever!

...

Pics below are of the car taken some time back when it was listed on our website previously.
Note that the roof rack has been removed...but otherwise it remains the same.

This is a fun one!
This car is located in New York state in the hands of a
collector and car nut who bought the car through our website nearly 10 years ago now!!

Here is a photo of the car at our very first "Freak Show" at the 2002 VW Classic.
Built here in So Cal by a good friend of ours.
Really a big hit at the show and it still brings a smile today.

The car is a life size replica of the Tamiya Sand Scorcher radio control car.
Here is a photo of the artwork on the original box.

Here is a photo of a completed R/C car...this was the dream toy of many back in the day.
I believe they have been re-released again in recent years by the way.

Now there have been just a couple changes to the car by the owner since he bought it.
New wheels and tires were installed as well as a roof rack.
The rest is really still the same...just 10 years later.

The car has been well cared for over the years and it still shows well.
It has been garaged and out of the elements for the most part
but the owner does admit to flogging it through the snow a few times.
The paint has aged some...there are some cracks in the finish here and there, but it still shines bright
and runs fantastic. The owner has quite a few vintage cars and this one has been the most reliable one of the bunch.
The engine always fires up and it runs like a champ.

Under the hood is the fuel tank...an early wide mouth tank.

Still retains all the original stickers put on during the build
including one from the sign shop that reproduced the Tamiya graphics for the build.

Nice Simpson race belts and Scat Pro-car seats.

Interior has held up well.

Headliner still looks good.

Under the dash and floors...holding up fine.

The steering wheel and dash look fine.

Strap on in and go!

Such a fun car.

Very nice wheels and tires on all four corners.

I even see the Oldbug.com stickers on the rear quarter windows!
The graphics still look clean and bright and are very faithful reproductions of the originals.

Here in this close up you can see some of the paint cracking from age...you gotta get right up on it to see it, but it is there.

Being in the cold state of New York, the owner has put in a couple of nice heaters to keep warm when
snow whomping with the car.

This photo was taken of the car when it was still here in California during a photo shoot for
VW Trends magazine that ran a very nice feature article on the car!

As you can see...not much has changed since these photos were taken

The feature in VW Trends was great and the photo shoot on the beach at San Onofre's "Old Man's"
surf beach was a great bit of fun!

Here are a couple photos of the car in 2002 in front of our old shop in Brea.
Being towed by our custom New Beetle!

A few more historical shots of the car in the builder's driveway.

Fun project and it got some great reactions.

And now today, here it sits in the current owner's driveway in New York state.
You can see he kept it up well and it is still an enjoyable driver and a crowd pleaser wherever it goes.
