1957 VW Beetle Deluxe Sedan For Sale

This Connecticut based 57 Oval is a clean and solid older restoration
that still presents very well and has just been serviced in prep for sale.

The Ovals are just so pretty!

Very nice stock car here, restored to original specs and well kept since.

Glass appears all original except for the windshield.

Windshield is a modern replacement.

Obviously enthusiast owned and cared for.

Running board rubber is starting to lift just a bit from moisture underneath, very common.

They still look great though

Cloth headliner, working domelight

Clean glove box and tire pressure info on the back of the door.

Steering wheel shows some minor cracks along the center spokes but otherwise very clean.

Odometer reads 65k miles
True mileage is unknown

Nice wool carpets

Single sunvisor

Headliner looks very nice

Floors are solid and clean

Fuel reserve level. correct rubber mat and carpet set.

Clean unmodified dashboard with all the right bits in place.

Mats in great shape

Interior looks very nice, clean seat frames and well fit upholstery.
Great color combination as well.

Out back is a good running 36hp engine, still 6 volt electrics and all the proper bits are present.

October of 56 production engine, quite possibly original to the car?
The other numbers on the car also point to October of 56 production.

Deck lid latch detail

Plate light has the proper clear back lens.

New plugs and plug wires.
Lower engine tin shows some paint wear and surface rust.

The car has just recently been serviced in preparation for sale
to the tun of over $5000 in parts and labor.
Should truly be a turn key, ready to enjoy car for its next owner.

Clean under the engine lid

Small paint chip at the tip of the deck lid.

Matching painted spare wheel.
Clean trunk.

Body tag and numbers line up with October 56 production.

Nice original trunk liner and wiring cover.

Solid and straight in the spare tire well

Small crack in the usual spot on the front hood.

Underside is un-restored but solid

The chassis shows some surface rust  but from the photos looks to be solid.
Hard to tell exactly the condition here but I would think it would be wise to
spend some time cleaning, treating and sealing the chassis so it remains solid.
Close inspection might reveal something more than that, but this doesn't look horrible to me.

Here is a close up of the sort of thing going on underneath,
Just getting a bit scaly ... wire brush, some Por 15 or similar to clean and seal
and it will be good for another lifetime.

Front end detail
Fender wells were cleaned and painted during the restoration

A little surface rust on the exhaust but it appears solid

New brake lines out back, new brake shoes and axle seals too.

Nice to see the stampings on the rear fender mounting flange
are correct for 57...so that's an original fender.

The owner is working on getting us some more exterior shots of the car as well
as photos of the wood slat roof rack and assorted other parts that come with the car.

Nice car, great colors, not flawless perhaps
but nice enough to be proud of and priced realistically.

To recap...the seller recently spent thousands to get the car up to par after inheriting it
from his uncle. It was obviously a car special to him and the goal is to now find
someone new to carry on that love and enjoyment.
